I hope Grenoble buy some decent players, maybe their rich japanese chairman can spend some money here:rolleyes:

Bocanegra is certainly interesting. poor buy imo as he is highly overrated and not a great defender.

hopefully Toulouse will be letting Matheiu go to Roma, but i do agree, some big names need to make a move, i wish some big players would head to France.

Gourcuff is really the biggest name there.

have a feeling some of the older French players may be moving back home soon. Giuly is most likely going home, Makelele might be heading out, Thuram as well.

all linked to PSG last i read

Two things about that list:
Are Nancy selling Chretien? Seem to be (no surprise he's got followers from other clubs) as they've acquired Calve.
And secondly, Marseille have added another two centre-backs in Hilton and Erbati. But they already have Givet, Zubar, Rodriguez, Faty, Cesar did not seal a transfer to WBA so he's back. They still have Civelli. And the young-ish Leyti N'Diaye? Then again, Gerets was playing Cana at the back, so I guess he doesn't feel comfortable with most of them.

Wikipedia has it that Marseille have signed Soufiane Alloudi, the Morocco international winger. He's a good player, is that transfer for certain?

Ben Arfa to Marseille. That's certainly interesting.
Puel saw him no place at Lyon then.

Chretien probably wants to leave, so Nancy probably might only consider serious offers, meaning big money offers.

It's likely Marseille will loan out some defenders (they've already loaned out two young defenders) or sell if they are not in their plans. Last time I heard about Alloudi, Marseille were in negotiations with him, so I don't know yet.

Civelli and especially Givet are terrible players and should be sent to the 3rd division.
N'Diaye is a defensive midfielder, or is it another N'diaye?
I've always liked Cesar, they should keep him imo, he's the best cb in that list.

As for Erbati, no offense to the Moroccan league but I can't see a player who was playing in Morocco starting for a club like Marseille who will be competing in the CL next season...

Definitely, we are likely to lose Squillaci who wants to go to Sevilla. Reveillere looks to be going to Italy. Another defender is paramount. Just thinking about Boumsong being a unanimous starter makes me cringe.

Apparently Fred doesn't want to play in the Bundesliga. He prefers England or Spain. I don't know if he will be sold, but right now it is likely and with him possibly leaving on a free next year, Aulas might just send him to the first buyer, maybe Werder :p

Well, Aulas says no agreement was made between the two clubs and him and Pape Diouf  only had limited contact through text messages. I think they probably came to a "verbal agreement" and Diouf and Ben Arfa overreacted (Ben Arfa was looking at houses in Marseille before the move was even being discussed).

So now Aulas says Ben Arfa is still our player and demands he reports to training, though he didn't show up today.

the deal was ratified today, so Ben Arfa is with Marseille on loan for good now. it seems it must have been a simple financial issue, which, with no disrespect to Lyon, is no surprise.

anyway, credit to the boy for sticking it out saying he wanted the move to OM, and credit to Lyon for allowing a transfer to a direct rival to keep a young promising talent playing his football in Ligue I.

i think Aulus came out on top tbh. probably got the deal he wanted in terms of finances, and got rid of a player who was a problem, particularly to his precious Karim.

not surprising as i said, Aulus knows what hes doing in terms of the transfer period. dangerous man to do business with:o

I do agree that the transfer price was a little shocking, but he wanted to leave and that 12m will come good because we will use that to sign Mensah. Also, I have no problems with him going to a rival because he is staying in Ligue 1 and we need to increase competition in the league. Not to mention, Ben Arfa wanted to go to Marseille. He turned down Real Madrid in the process (seems Aulas wanted him to sign with Real Madrid, according to Hatem).

No problem. These days turning down a club is just a hint that you want more money. We're looking at Burdisso now.

Also Nantes signs another player. Gravgaard of Denmark. He was the captain of Copenhagen. DZ is making sure they don't get relegated again. And now they are trying to sign Dagoberto from Sao Paulo.

Sadly, Lens were relegated (conspiracy!!!!!!) and they are likely to let any club (particularly Ligue 1 and abroad) who gives a good offer for a player to take them. They already let their captain Hilton, Coulibaly, Carriere, and Bisevac leave. I expect more. I hope Lens let Monnet-Paquet leave. Come to Lyon. :D

hes saying that because PSG were also in the relegation battle, but stayed up perhaps because of the revenue they bring being in Paris.

Lens of course not really competing with that sort of $ and viewers that PSG would take in for Ligue I.

yes I even know a PSG fan who admits this isn't impossible, after all it would be a disaster to have a club like PSG relegated (bad enough that Nantes went down last season... fortunately they came straight back up).

it's unfortunate, Lens had a quality squad, but anything can happen - ask Zaragoza.

Obviously, some people have a problem with PSG...
I admit that PSG may have "stolen" the League Cup with a litigious penalty.
But I can't accept that for the relegation battle. In the two games against Lens, PSG made a draw in Lens and beated them at home with a no contest 3-0. PSG has made 8 points in its last 4 games. In the same games, I think Lens made not more than 3 points.
Moreover, if there was a conspiracy of the league, why did they choose Lens more than Toulouse to be relegated ?

Because Toulouse actually won a few games unlike Lens who were really awful.

Nice signed David Ospina, a young goalkeeper from Colombia to replace Hugo Lloris. They so far spent 11.5 million euros of the 22.5 million they got from us for Lloris and Ederson.

Asamoah Gyan :D has sign with Rennes. Great player.

Stephane Sessegnon, one of my fav players (he was amazing at Creteil) has transferred to PSG. Lyon, I think they were interested, should have tried harder. Hope he prospers at PSG.

By the time the transfer window closes, Le Mans won't have any quality players left. Matsui, Yebda, Calvé, Romaric and De Melo have all left, and even their manager Rudi Garcia, who's gone to Lille! :p The only person left now is Gervinho. Hasn't he been linked with Arsenal for some time now?

Yeah, it more me wanting him to play for Lyon more than him being capable of playing for them. PSG has given him the no. 10 so he might be playing as a playmaker in the middle than on the right or in the holding role.

I still remember him winning the title with Nantes. He is a very good player and I think it's a big loss for the league. ya it is.he is a decent player. he has got lightening speed and change of pace but just cant score of his life depends on it. he is clumsy too and seems to always find a way to stumble on something or the ball when running with the ball. overall he needs alot of work but he got the athleticism to be a good player

Who knows? He looks to be staying, but Lyon have been looking at other striker to bring in, Sergio Garcia, Piquionne (transfer should be completed today), Ricardo Oliviera, and Diego Milito, and with the emergence of our young striker Yannis Tafer, so they might consider offloading Fred in the winter if an extension isn't agreed.

indeed it was completed today.

Sebastién Puygrenier has signed with Zenit St Petersburg. And Sylvain Monsoreau has signed with Saint-Etinne.

Can anyone tell me some detailed information about Sebastien Puygrenier?
I have some info already, that the Nancy defence was the second best in the league, that he´s a very solid stay-at-home defender with very good heading skills, but what about his weaknesses? :o

He's basically what you say. A stay at home defender who's probably going to give you a headed goal every now and then. He can even take penalties if needed. Only weakness I can see is, though he may have good heading skills, when going up against a stronger guy, for example Djibril Cisse, he's a sitting duck. Sometimes he's a little lazy, I remember in a match against where he tackled a guy that resulted in a penalty. The penalty was missed, the rebound was missed and it took PSG three tries to score. Puygrenier was just sitting back watching all this unfold. Great player though. :p

He's better than Shirokov imo, he'll definitely be a threat on set pieces too

That´s true, even my granny is better than Shirokov though , and an important thing to note - we will have a French-speaking central defence, namely Sebastien and Nicolas Lombaerts and that´s very good because there will be no communication problems.
And this transfer also indicates that French players are willing to play in Russia, I know that 90% of their willing is the contract :D , but still...
We can´t sign a Spanyard even if we would offer him millions because they like flamenco and hot weather and fighting bulls and such stuff, not rainy days in San Pietroburgo :D
The Sports TV I am watching is starting to broadcast French League , so I´ll definitely try to check out some interesting players from your league... ;)
(I know, pathetic ass-licking :D )

I'm not sure Lombaerts speaks French, maybe he just speaks Flemish (?), depends upon where he's from in Belgium i guess...

I don't know if you know it but Puygrenier was very close to signing with St Etienne, and only changed his mind at the very last minute and joined Zenit. The St Etienne fans were all disgusted and claimed he only joined Zenit for money, for the "russian black money":p. Personally I think Zenit are a bigger club than St Etienne and he made the right choice.

He speaks both Flemish and French, I´m sure of it.. ;)
St. Etienne aren´t playing CHampions League as well, that´s a pretty good criterium. :D
And they don´t have that much sexy players. :D :o
