View Full Version : Jose Mourinho "the Special One"
How do you rate this guy so far? I have to admit he's pretty funny.
In a weird way he has managed to stir shit up and make Serie A that much more interesting and its week 2.
‘Mourinho Needs A Smack In The Mouth’
Catania director Pietro Lo Monaco has launched a sensational attack on Jose Mourinho’s arrogance and lack of respect by declaring that the Inter coach deserves a “smack in the mouth”.

Mourinho: Who The Hell Is Lo Monaco?
Jose Mourinho has responded to Pietro Lo Monaco’s astonishing attack on him from earlier today by spitefully stating that he has never heard of the Catania director.

“As for Lo Monaco I do not know who he is. With the name Monaco I have heard of Bayern Monaco (Munich) and the Monaco GP, the Tibetan Monaco (Monk), and the Principality of Monaco.
LMAO....

this is nothing new to me. i knew this is exactly the type of character he would bring to Inter.
makes things fun imo, but Italy is no England...he needs to remember that. the media here has already scrutinized every single word he says. but imo, he thrives on that.

this guy is genius...
this quote is from an interview on saturday...
Inter had their appeal against Muntari's three-match ban rejected. Anything to say about this?
"No. Now I'm waiting calmly for the day to come when a player really is aggressive against a colleague. If Muntari got a three-match ban when he probably deserved a yellow card, they'll have to give a minimum six-match ban when there's a real act of aggression. But for now I have to wait."

So Mourinho is waiting now for some player to be really aggressive towards another player so that he could prove his point of how unjust his player was treated?
"I'm waiting...." *taps his fingers*

Here is another quote from the "genius":
SOWS OUTBREAK!
Inter boss Mourinho has sparked further controversy by hinting that the state of Gattuso’s arm was greatly exaggerated.
“Dejan Stankovic can recover before the derby and should already be in the side on Wednesday against Lecce,” said the Coach.
“I like telling it like it is and giving out the correct predicted recovery times for players. Others prefer to suggest far longer lay-offs so it’s all wonderful and marvellous when someone manages to return ‘ahead’ of schedule.”
The Milan derby is next weekend and the verbal battle has already begun.

^ I only just realised there are midweek fixtures.
The 'Special One' has been finding it difficult to deal with the demanding Italian media and his constant swipes have landed him in hot water.
He has now decided to keep his mouth shut and he is leaving press duties to his number two in charge.
The former Chelsea man believes that there are too many meetings with the media and he doesn't like it, nor does he appreciate the way Italian journalists throw questions at him.
“The fact that he did not go to the press conference on the eve of the match against Lecce is not such a bad sign,” said Ancelotti at Milan’s pre-match press gathering.
“It could be a way to evaluate his assistants and if it was so, it would be a nice and fair gesture because behind the coaches there are good and competent persons who live in the shadows."
Sounds like a smart swipe to me...
'The Claudio and Jose Show':
http://www.goal.com/en/Articolo.aspx?ContenutoId=876796
The interview began with the Juve coach and Mourinho sat waiting, watching Ranieri being interviewed. Mourinho then took off his ear piece and, speaking to Andrea Paventi of the Sky crew, the Portuguese coach said, “I'm very thirsty. I'm going to go drink something and eat, then I will come back.”
The coach was clearly not interested in being interviewed at the same time as his fellow manager, with whom he had shared unkind words a few weeks ago.
I love Jose, very glad to have him in Italy. We haven't had this sort of sarcasm and sardonic handling of the press in a while.

interesting quotes...
and seeing Materazzi sent off from the bench was like a film already seen. I love Africa and Africans. I'm the least racist person in the world but I don't understand why there are fines for racist chants, and no fines when Inter play and Materazzi, whose mother is no longer with us, is always insulted. He's a splendid boy but he's always treated differently and I have noticed this for years. On the bench Cordoba, Baresi and the others all acted in the same way but it was Materazzi who was sent off. I don't think this is fair. We should respect him and his career.
As for the insults against me from opposing fans, this has been going on for a long time, but in so many years it's the first time someone has completely stood up for me. This shows how important our coach is for the players. I have thanked him in private for this, and now I thank him in public. Fortunately these things don't happen in the Champions League because UEFA are the first to severely punish personal insults.

yea he did the same in London. constantly defending DD, Ferreira,Robben, JT, Lamps, J Cole, etc. no surprise there, its one of several reasons he has such a strong relationship with the players.

very, very good observations by mourinho in being Inter's coach
"The man to attack is me. I'm the unpleasant one. I'm the arrogant one. It's my fault if we lose, and it's luck if we win. For me it's fine like this because I like my players to feel protected by their coach."
Mourinho: Media don't respect me
“For the good of everyone I would even be prepared to cut my wages,” Mourinho told TG5 when asked about the financial meltdown.
