it's a common knowledge that the Philippine Football Federation is corrupt. the thing is, nobody cares enough to do something. and those who can do something, don't, because they benefit from the corruption.
the thing is, i dont know how to go about this? how should the Filipino community go about this?

Well, as a filipino living over there, you should know that corruption is common in our country (mostly any organization over there is), and plus how many ppl over there even like football? from my days living there the big sports were basketball and boxing, so it would be hard for the community to do anything about it if there isn't a huge interest in it. I'd love it if the Philippines took football seriously, cuz damn that would be great, but sadly I don't see that happening anytime in the near future.
p.s. unless i'm wrong and alot of ppl do like football there? Last I was there was when I was 8-9 yrs ago.

yea, it's not a really big footballing nation, but that's the thing. FIFA pumps all this money into the development of the sport in the country but nothing happens. all the money go to the pockets of the higher-ups.
about the community, it is small but is as passionate as any other country about football.
actually, the ball is already rolling:
the technical director, Dr. Juan Cutillas, has resigned
the whole Women's National Futsal Team, including coaches, has resigned
hopefully many others would resign so the AFC would notice.

why not help the PFF?
philippine football needs a kick in the foot, start a revolution, expose the talents
to hell with the corrupt officials, FIFA needs to clean up its act in manila and stop being in cahoots with the local officials.. i really think they know that the money they donate goes nowhere
no stadiums, no balls, no trainings, no schools, no center for excellence, nada

how do we start this then? im game for a revolution!
i read somewhere before that the african football governing body banned a country from international competition and cut their funding because of corruption charges. how do we do that?
the money going into philippine football from FIFA and the AFC is relatively huge. but as you said. NADA.

Sounds like Malaysian football, and that's an issue that's been plaguing the game there for decades.

trust me it's worse. at least the malaysians have a proper league and a proper national team to show for their development. we have nothing here.
it's unbelievably sad.

They may have all those, but the management is hardly proper.

The issue of corruption within PFF is actually beyond its current actual state. There is virtually nothing anyone can do since Football as a sport in the Philippines isn't culturaly accepted compared to other team sports. People should deal with the issue from the grassroots, not just through action within the government and those who do not understand the beautiful game.

I wanna bump this thread and resurrect it from the dead. I thought I was alone as a Filipino here in Maxxed.
It should start at the grassroots. Is there any way that we can ask for FIFA to intervene if we sign a petition or something?

^That's brilliant news, really happy for the team & especially the manager - Simon McMenemy, who happens to be my good mate Dave's cousin! ;)
Considering he came from nowhere & found out about the job on Facebook of all things, he has done pretty damn good for a 32-year old. Well chuffed.
Here's a good article on him from a month or so ago, well worth a read: http://soccernet.espn.go.com/columns/story?id=831577&cc=5739

Get in, Malaysia! Nice way to recover.
At the expense of Robbo's Thailand, though :( But the Thai FA are morons for not rescheduling their Cup Final from so close to the start of the tournament.
