This is a Porto thread so I can bad mouth every club I want. Apparently those seem to be the rules.

For starters Benfica had a coach that was involved in Portugal's most notorious pedophilia scandal: Chalana.

Benfica's president was convicted of theft. Benfica should have been relegated for non payment of taxes.

Benfica is the only club in Portugal to have assassinated a rival supporter. In an unrelated case Benfica fans beat a Porto athlete with a baseball bat, said athelete was in a coma in critical condition. Benfica fans set fire to a Porto supporter's bus, by a sheer miracle nobody died.

Benfica lied to UEFA trying to get Porto out of the Champions League 08/09.

Benfica fans are all assholes.

That pretty much covers my sentiments for the moment.

They even let their fans invade the pitch and intimidate referees and they know how to throw stones against their rivals supporters.

On the positive side their presient was never catch on the telephone buying referees and asking for other players to be suspended

No? what the fuck was that conversation involving Luis Filipe Vieira (Benfica president for those that dont know) asking for Joao "pode ser" Ferreira? You know, when he said that if that ref wasn't possible he would "do things another way".

Now as much as the Pinto da Costa phone calls are suspicious (and they are, I grant you that) it was never proven that any ref helped Porto in exchange for a bribe. Especially not for those two games in question, one of which Porto didn't even win.

Now it can be argumented that he tried to buy the refs and they denied. Well, if that was the case it would still be prosecuted as an attempt at active corruption (tentativa de corrupcao activa). Yet still the courts found no reason to punish Pinto da Costa and FC Porto.

It can be said that Pinto da Costa got off scot free. But give me one example of a Championship Porto won where there were extensive cases of monkey business like the last 2 championships won by Benfica.

This year Benfica benefitted from 13 or 14 sent off opposing players and they had 14 penalties (converted). The total of penalties awarded by refs are close to 20. On average the champion has 7 or 8. Yes, I know that many benfiquistas claim that because they attack so much and put so much pressure on the opposing defenders that mistakes happen and penalties and red cards occur naturally. Yeah right. With Aimar, Saviola and DiMaria the Three Musketeer Divers, sure. Not to mention the liberal red cards like the one against Fucile. Where the fuck was the "benfica attacking pressure" on that red card? And he wasn't the exception, basically he was the norm.

Benfica's last 2 league victories are sullied with suspicion. Everybody in Portugal knows that. I won't go back to their antepenultimate title, that was 16 years ago, thats how often they "rule".

I just think that it's funny see Porto supporters talking about corruption,it makes me feel good :)

Please stop with the "there's no proof" thing.It΄s on the fucking youtube everybody can see it but i guess we know how justice works here...

Of course Porto dominate football here in the last years but that doesn't mean nothing.Everybody knows how they reached this far,if it wasn't Pinto da Costa and his "fruta" Porto would me meaningless in Portugal and in Europe

I didn't put that at stake,everybody saw what happened this year with 10 minutes in the game they were winning with a penalty and playing against 10 but they needed to make worth it their investment.This year is gonna be funny with Benfica trying to be champions again and Porto trying to conquer another tittle.I guess that both teams will be VERY helped and we will be talking about referres every weeks.

Fuck off you moron. Porto won the Champions League due to corruption as well? You believe that? Sure, you'd rather debase the whole Portuguese judicial system and Portugal's reputation than admit that Lisbon clubs are shitty and badly organised.

Those taped conversation prove nothing, absolutely nothing. They are ambiguous at best. Keep on believing that the reason your piece of shit club has only won 3 titles in 30 years is because Porto is corrupt. Same goes for Benfica bastards.

We're so corrupt that we managed to win double the international titles than the two whiny Lisbon mouro clubs combined. Being as corrupt as we are is the reason we were invited to found the G14.

And while we're at it: explain how Sporting is still to this day the Champion with the most penalties of all: 17.

PS: where are you mods now? Why aren't you keeping this Porto thread free of intruding idiots?
