Wow, if Napoli can afford Quagliera I see no reason to sell Lavezzi or Hamsik. Kinda upsetting that Cannvaro didn't go back home. Hopefully he stays at Juve only one year (maybe just the desire to win the CL) and finishes off at home. I think they have the makings of a big-time team.

Quaglia is from Naples, and never has hid his desire to play for Napoli, so that probably has quite a motivation.
as for Hamsik, Di Laurentis has stated he wont sell him, tho Juve and Inter have been interested for a long time
Lavezzi however seeeems on the way out, but it could just be a wage push. tho EPL clubs, notably Liverpool are interested.

But what I'm saying is that they seem to be able to afford a little bit and Lavezzi has always seemed to really love playing at Napoli. If Lavezzi stays on this Summer and this team has the kind of season next year that I think they can have...I think they'll have the potential to attract a lot of big time players.

they still have Donadoni coaching them. Mr. savior compared to Reja who stood by them, and yet Donadoni managed one win in 10, with one game to go...ah Napoli. :o

I hope he does, good player and likes the club.

No real reason to get rid of him tbh, I see Trez leaving before Iaquinta.

Also the Zarate deal hasnt been completed, Lazio are yet to pay the money. Zarate has given the club 10 days to sort it out or he'll look to take up one of the other several offers from England/Spain.

I understood resign as in "resignation"(quiting). I guess he meant re-sign as in signing a new contract?

yea, Iaquinta is a solid player, both feet and the head, and he seems comfortable or at least not gutted to have a bench role thru long stretches.

good move to keep him in Turin imo, i value him over Amauri, and said that pre Amauri's benching.

Abate will rejoin Milan (if he stays there or not will remain to be seen).

Bianchi will move on, would be a decent signing for someone like Roma imo. Gives them a good alternative to Vucinic/Totti and some aerial ability.

Rosina will probably move being World Cup year, cant really afford to stay if he wants to make the team.

The others not so sure, could go either way.

According to some reports Eder will be our first signing.

In other news. Vucinic has renewed till 2013. So I suppose Pizarro, Taddei and Perrotta will renew in couple of weeks or will be sold.

Then I hope Prade, Spalletti and Conti decide who will be sent on loan, who will return and so on. I think it needs to be done sooner than it was done last year. Our transfer season will be affected by it.

After that is done go and buy new players.

If this is true, what a deal Roma is getting!

Roma were always going to sign him, and had the option from when the loan started. i knew once he impressed, combined with Cicinho's injuries + Panucci's antics, Motta was the future.

he seems to love Roma, the city, the team, and since his move he has tasted CL football, first team play with Roma, and his first NT call up;)

I don't remember the details about the loan exactly but I think it was something like this: 7 million Euros for the full-ownership and 3.5 million Euros for the co-ownership. If we can manage to sign him fully for 3.5 million then it would be a bargain.

I wonder what will happen to Atalanta. They've sold Floccari and Cigarini - their two main players besides Doni. Also they probably won't have Cerci, Parravicini and Plasmati next season. They're gonna need some reinforcements, especially in attack. Doni is getting too old to do anything alone. They still haven't got a head coach either.

rumors have been shooting around that Atalanta will be given Acquafresca as he is in co ownership with Inter/Genoa, and the deal that sent Floccari to Genoa is basically being "paid back" via a loan deal for Acq to go to Bergamo.

and we better recall Cerci, even tho he didnt play much thru injury this past year. :(

A decent player, good addition to Atalanta. Acquafresca will be a good addition as well if they do get him. Atalanta will still need someone in midfield. They lost Cigarini and Parravicini.

Will Atalanta keep Plasmati? In these few matches that I watched him play I was pretty impressed with him. Really strong and tall player who can keep the ball. I think he would be pretty useful for them next season. Put a fast player near him and they'll be very dangerous. I'd say if Atalanta keep Plasmati make him their main striker he could surprise us all.

I haven't seen many Roma games last season, but I can't really understand why would you even consider selling Menez? Is he having hard time adjusting to life in Italy, difficulties with teammates/Roma management...was he that much of a disappointment?? The guy got bags of talent and he showed it on quite a few occasions (bastard) :D...sure he was inconsistent, BUT -> he's young, his firist season in Serie A and not a lot of first team appearances perhaps?!

he def had chances, thats for sure. Spalletti played him every chance he could when he was fit.
he got the winner with a great goal v Chievo, and had one on the last matchday i believe, a left footed belter.

the thing is this, yes...alot of potential. but Spalletti has publicly said he wants more consistency, in training as well as in game. many fans also werent pleased with nagging injuries which limited him.

its a two fold issue too, yes he is a dribbler, takes on players, but if you take on defenders, but dont get by those defenders...then whats the point? from what i saw last year, he took players on but was only successful a bit of the time.

another compounding issue is whether he should be played as CF (where he played best at Monaco) or on the wing. add this to his January comments when he seemingly was rethinking his move to Rome. Marseille are interested, but Deschamps said 10 mil is too much.

id be happy to keep him, but needs to train harder, and play for the team a bit more imo, ala Taddei or Brighi.

He sure got by Maldini that little bugger :D. He reminds me a bit of Pato, in a sense that he should be more effective playing on the wing, but somehow CF/targetman is where he shines. Judging from your words, he's having commitment issues, probably thinking about France and his stardom opportunities there. I just hope it's not another "Gourcuff" case...I don't know, I would give him another year!!!

Any Seria A followers care to enlighten Madrid fans about D'Agostino from Udinese? We are in negotiations with his club and there's a good chance he'll move to Madrid. What type of mildfielder is he? A defensive mildfielder like De Rossi, a central mildfielder like Fabregas or a attacking mildfielder like Diego ? From his stats, it looks like he had a hell of a season.

he is a solid midfielder, good passer. decent shot in and around the 18. good free kick taker, but he wont ever get that opportunity in Madrid

certainly worth around 15 or so, but he isnt really a full International, only played one match in a friendly.
also, he hasnt really played for a big club, so making the leap to Real from Udinese....could be tough.

i think Juve would have been the better option, because it would have been the league he knows, the style he knows, but a bigger club.

a PM i sent to another RM friend who was asking the same;)

hell of a season yes, and improving all the time, but as i said, i feel a bigger club in Italy would have been a better move. never really played for any big club for any long stretch of time (Roma early on)

ive read an interview with him thta said he wanted to try an opportunity outside of Italy tho, and with Toro's relegation, a lucrative Zenit offer would be snapped up quickly i bet.

i think he is a phenomenal talent tho, and mistreated by Torino/coaches/and fans. he just needs someone to pull some consistency out of him, but its difficult in the trequarista role.

he could do well alot of places that would give him support in the midfield, and not force him to be marked by two defenders like usually happened in Turin.

Jose Castillo is delighted after completing his move to Fiorentina and admits he can hardly believe his luck.

The 33-year-old, who made his Serie A debut with Lecce last season, has been training with La Viola over the past few days while he waited for the deal to go through.

Castillo has now penned a two-year deal at the Stadio Artemio Franchi, where he is set to play understudy to Alberto Gilardino and the striker was officially unveiled as a Fiorentina player on Tuesday.

"I have always played in average, low-profile clubs," he said. "Now I want to try to win.

"I thank the club for the unique opportunity they have given me. Fiorentina have extraordinary fans.

"I know the role I am coming in to cover, for me it's an honour, But with three competitions, and in a very long season I can carve out my space.

"I'm not setting targets for myself, I will try to do the best possible."

Castillo added: "I know Tuscany well, it's one of the regions where you live best in Italy.

"I am sure it will not be difficult to get used to life in Florence.

"I'm going to be 34 soon. It was a surprise to be called by Fiorentina, At the beginning I didn't believe it. They had to confirm to me it was true.

"To be here is something exceptional."

Castillo has spent most of his career in Italy in Serie D since his move from Argentina in 2001 due to his lack of a European Union passport but, with an impressive scoring record, swiftly shot up the divisions once he was granted citizenship in 2005.

What's the deal with him anyways? I know he doesn't like tracking back and seems to be a moody player, but I just don't understand how you can have the likes of Nani, Valencia and then Rosina at 6 mil and nobody wants him??

most likely inconsistency. he can score in bunches and then go 3-5 games without a whisper.

i read an interview back a bit that said he wanted to try a foreign league too. this was also the first bid for him. so my guess is, cash strapped Toro probably immediately took the bid, and he wanted out anyway, so it pleased all parties.

i remember about 2 seasons back, Palermo, Roma, and others wanted him, but Torino wouldnt sell him for less than 15.

Honestly, it's mind-boggling to me how no team in Serie A didn't make a bid for him!! How can a player of his caliber just fall off radar screens in such a short time, it's not like he pulled a quaresma or something. Hell, I would take him over 50 year old Seedorf 99 times out of 100. Zenit have a pretty good team and coach, but I'm not sure how well he will adapt to playing/living in Russia.

as its not nearly as a competitive league as Serie A, i think he will slot in well, being used to running at Serie A defenders.

also, its being rumored that after Ranieri straightens out his contract issue with Juve, as he is still technically under contract with them, when he is released, its said his destination is Zenit.

so that could aid Rosina as well, being coached by an Italian.

was sad to hear that Advocaat for Zenit actually came out and said he didnt even want Rosina...could fuel reports that Mancini or Ranieri will coach there soon...but damn.

just comes right out and says he didnt want the player at all.

Felipe of Udinese is set to sign with Fiorentina during the Winter transfer market for 9 million euros. Corvino was looking for another quality CB that fitted into their wage structure for a while now. I'm sure with Prandelli help, Felipe will make a good CB duo with Gamberini.

Toni and Pandev are set to join a Serie A side on a free. Which striker would you want on your team ?
