Shit, i never noticed this Portuguese Football section before?? Hiding all the way down here. Seems like its pretty dead........
Thought id see what everyone thinks about the job Queiroz is doing with the Selecao Nacional?? Get ready for my rant..........

I personally think the guy is fucking hopeless. I was embarrassed watching the game against Estonia. No offense to any Estonians but that is a game we should be winning by 3 or 4, even with a second team. We hardly created a scoring chance and they looked closer to scoring in the second half. He then comes out after the game and has the balls to say that the games objectives were accomplished. I would have slapped him if i was there.
The decisions this guy makes are unbelievable. Whats with playing a CB as a DM? We have plenty of players who are natural DM's or who have played that position before.....Veloso, Manuel Fernandes, Moutinho, Raul Meireles, Petit, Pedro Mendes etc etc. WTF is he trying to accomplish?
I think we should get rid of him ASAP and find someone competent to replace him before he completely fucks everything up. What does everyone think?

I think you are right. As far as I remember he was pretty useless as Real Madrid manager as well.

Portugal is in serious danger of losing out on a World Cup ticket, and that is remarkable considering the amount of talent you guys have available.

Let's just say i'm happy he is no longer Fergies assistant.

Yeh i think we can kiss the world cup good bye.
Queiroz may be one of those people who is better suited to a role as an assistant manager. He seemed to do pretty well at Man U, a lot of people credited him for some of the tactics used and signing of players.
In any case he has failed miserably at almost every opportunity he has been given as a first team coach.
I think he won a youth world cup or something years ago but thats it.
I think Portugal would be better off with a coach from the Dutch system, its suits our style of play.

 Why?

Because I honestly don't believe he has what it takes to be a part of the best football club in the world. His record with Real Madrid and now as Portugal coach proves my point.

He should have been given his papers a while ago if you ask me.

Portugal is in 4th place? That's ridiculous, lol. I don't care that you have 19wingers and no striker. There's NO excuse for that.

I'd like to see Miguel get a call at RB and for Bosingwa to play LB. He clearly can and I don't see any real quality LB's for Portugal. You gotta play with C. Ronaldo as some hybrid striker/winger. He scores plenty and you have enough great wingers. What you're lacking is obvious.

And how about Manuel Fernandes, Deco, and Jose Moutinho as the trio in the center?

I think Ronaldo is going to be playing in the CF Role from now on.

And many people in Portugal have been calling for Miguel at RB and Bosingwa at LB. But sadly, it is never implemented. We have found a decent offensive replacement for LB in Duda(Malaga), but defensively hes not very good.

We have also been calling for Manny Fernandes to be starting, he was killing it for Valencia, arguably their best player alongside David Villa. But for some odd reason, he still does not get the call up...Carlos Queiroz continues to put either Moutinho, Tiago or Meireles in that CAM role...and realistically, Manuel Fernandes is better then those 2 players and better fit for the role.

Also, I don't want Moutinho playing as a Trinco, he is too small and too weak. I want either Miguel Velsoso, Meireles, or possibly down the line Pele.

Coach whatever team you want, just stay away from Madrid!

He needs to GTFO, the improvement isn't coming and theres no time muck around no more. A massive escape out of jail vs albania away, and couldn't even beat estonia. Wouldn't mind Scolari back. At least we were scoring with him.

Hardly scoring but scoring. Scolari was a piece of shit though. Only good thing about him was the fact that he motivated the players.

Queiroz is a shit coach, doesn't know what he is doing. Portugal are in serious doubt of qualifying for the finals.

He's been assistant anywhere else than besides Ferguson ? Cause if he hasn't, don't think you can draw safe conclusions.

his spell at real madrid was sketchy. he was receiving a lot of pressure from the suits and was only given a year. something had to have been happening behind the scenes. maybe, he just can't handle the high expectations and pressure associated, when it's his liability.

i just dont get how ronaldo has gone so cold for portugal..when was the last time he even scored for his country?I believe the biggest problem for Portugal is they don't have a real striker, just like Argentina. And this ain't a new situation, it's happening for years.

Just going to say that yes, and that is a loud and definite yes, Queiroz should go. There is absolutely no doubt about it. With guys like Duda, Edinho, and Meireles playing...it never ends and its unbelievable. We won't do a thing with Queiroz in the World Cup.

i say: Queiroz out, Jesualdo in. I hate Jesualdo but i believe he can do a good job, and on top of that he has the players to use in his so dear 4-3-3

Remarkable coach. Dunga and Maradona get all the attention, as they're just ruining the chances of their respective teams winning the World Cup.

This guy is a serious idiot. United must love Portugal at this point.
