Although the football on show was poor, for once I don't care. We've finally won it! I'm extremely proud of the national side. We were definitely the most likely to score and had controlled the game for large periods and created the better chances. The defence did a magnificent job, restricting Vietnam to long range efforts and constantly closing them down when they surged forward. It's the first time I've had the opportunity to watch us win something meaningful, after all those semifinal and final defeats, making this victory that much sweeter. It's just one of those days where you're proud to be a Malaysian football fan. It's our greatest footballing achievement for the past two decades!

Hopefully this will herald a new dawn in Malaysian football and K.Rajagopal has certainly shown what he can achieve with this youthful squad. He must be allowed to continue working with this group of players for the next few years.

I rooted for Malaysia to win. No offense to the Vietnamese here but damn against Singapore, Vietnam epitomed anti-football,its crazy. They fall down at simple challenges,always disrupting our chances to go forward. The scoreline was 4-1 but don't let it fool you. Our side was obsessed with just attacking and everytime there was a physical contest,the Vietnamese would drop down faster than a $5 ho.
