Just realised that a couple of good keeper are with out a club.
Markus Pröll (Eintracht Frankfurt) had a couple of good seasons at Cologne and Frankfurt. Known as injury prone.
Timo Hildebrand (Hoffenheim) 250 Buli caps, earned 9 caps for Germany, great keeper when on form.
Michael Rensing (Bayern) hes like 26 and has to start all over again, never really showed hes ready for the first league.
he really should think about playing at a third league team in Germany/England or going to a northern Europe second division club.
any more?

Martin Pieckenhagen!
Not sure why, but I always liked the guy. Not the most talented, but I remember him as a never-give-up never-back-down type of guy. At 38 a bit old, still it would be great if he would get another season or two in the 2nd or 3rd Bundesliga.
Does Hansa Rostock need a keeper?

Rensing is good enough for a lower level Bundesliga team and certainly good enough for second division in Germany. He just wasn't good enough for being Bayern's starter. I could easily see Rensing as starting keeper at a team like Bochum or Kaiserslautern. He wasn't THAT bad that Mr.Macro is making him seem. But at Bayern it's do or die and there's little patience to wait a couple years since immediate results are expected. This is also partly why Klinsmann didn't succeed since his plans were more long-term than addressing immediate concerns of winning trophies.

I use to rate Timo highly when he was at Valencia, I don't understand how some GK's discombobulate.

Pieckenhagen was without contract. He joined Mainz today (2011) because Heinz Müller is out for half a year.

Pity that he's only going to be the understudy for Wetklo, but still he's back.
