I think France has a really good chance of going really far, they have a lot of fantastic players all over the field and a sane coach, still have Nasri, Gourcuff, Diaby, Sagna, Evra, Mexes to consider...I think Koscielny though he only has the 1 cap will be a very important player, as well M'vila, Ribery, Benzema. But the biggest factor will be their togetherness imo. Hope they stay together as a team because there's real potential.

I agree. The talent available should make France contend for a semifinal, IMO. This would need topping group D and overcoming the second placed team in group C.
This will also be Blanc's first appearance at a final tournament as a coach, I'll be curios to see how he approaches it (from a managerial point of view).
A tournament with a French team in good shape is always memorable (see WC 1982, 1998 and 2006, and Euro 1984 and 2000).

Squad will be as follows barring any injuries:

Goalkeepers: Hugo Lloris, Steve Mandanda, Cedric Carrasso

Defenders: Eric Abidal, Patrice Evra, Adil Rami, Bacary Sagna, Anthony Réveillère, Mamadou Sakho, Philippe Mexès

Midfielders: Yohan Cabaye, Samir Nasri, Yann M'Vila, Florent Malouda, Alou Diarra, Franck Ribery, Marvin Martin, Jeremy Menez

Forwards: Karim Benzema, Loic Remy, Kevin Gameiro

The final two spots will be a backup CB; either Younes Kaboul or Laurent Kolscielny. Blanc has yet to decide on which, though Kos has the advantage. And the final spot will go to a backup striker. Probably Giroud or Hoarau or a striker on form towards the end of the season like Gomis. Giroud is currently the favorite of the three though. There will be only two wildcards and they are Hatem Ben Arfa and Yoann Gourcuff. If they are on form and playing regularly by the end of the season, I can see them replacing anyone of Martin/Menez/Malouda especially if the latter isn't playing regularly.

Malouda hasnt even played that much, Hatem deserves to be there more than him.

Both Kaboul and Koscielny have been brilliant so far this season hope they both make the squad but there're so much players there who can fill in at cb...really hope to see Gourcuff and Giroud as well. Also Debuchy and Mathieu looked really good maybe they can get in ahead of Evra and Réveillère?

Would have loved to see Capoue and Sakho in the squad at least for the warm up matches. Also why hasn't Lass gotten a call?

Kaboul and Remy are injured, so that's two names off the squad. Who will be the other two?

Edit: Players omitted are Kaboul, Remy, Yanga-M’biwa and Gourcuff

Only 2 real Strikers and 3 CBs
