How many people saw Gerrard's dive against Bolton? I'm guessing it wont be made into a really big deal because after all it wasnt a Chelsea player doing right? The joy of Double standards how ironic isnt it.
I guess i'm gonna get a few neg reps and quite a few negative and maybe even a few abusive replys but i couldnt care less.

uhm ppl didn't make a fuzz about it cuz he didn't get a PK, unlike chelsea players would have gotten :D
+ he didn't make such a big problem about it, he knew it was a dive

I think he done it twice yesterday. I don't know why he did it, especially for the first one, he could've had a clear effort on goal.
I hope Rafa has had a firm word or two with him about that, Stevie should know that we don't do that round here. I hope he has looked at the replays and cringed.........
Edit: woo hoo! 10th post!

It's all about diving! Maybe for a moment he thought he was deco..
How about Robben's dive that lead to a free kick which resulted in a goal!
But what Gerrard did was pretty disgusting and bloody happy he didnt get it. Bloody hopped he got booked as well darn was mad when I saw that.
Plus he knew he dived and didnt make a big fuss over it. Drogba again makes a big fuss at fulham after he handled the ball.

Hey there L-Dog. Isn't it too early for a team switch? :D
Pretty sad how one of our players does it for the first time IN AGES and they mention it. Just to justify the actions of their players week in and week out.
How are you mate? and no I have court next week and prefer to risk getting caught.

i see that as being the only weakness of the beautiful game
Football has too many punces and sissies, a little physcial contact and they start wailing. Whilst rugby league/union players are getting like 1/8th of footballer's salary and are getting battered week in week out

Haven't actually seen the incident but by all accounts it was a poor effort from Stevie.. maybe a 1/10 :D
Seriously though he shouldn't be doing that. He does go down in the box sometimes trying to get penalties WITH contact but I haven't actually seen him "dive". Like steve huge says I hope he sees it again and cringes. Bad bad Stevie :p

No Zaffo, it will not be made into a big deal, in fact no one will even talk about it on TV or in newspapers. However, this is not because he is not a Chelsea player. It is because as long as a player or his teammates do not claim a foul or the ref. decides it as a foul, it is not a problem. Players keep falling all the time but as long as they don't claim a foul, it is not considered as a disciplinary issue. In case of Robben, the Chelsea players created a lot of fuss on the field and the ref decided in their favour resulting in a red card for Reina. However, you have to appreciate that even then our manager was most understanding and even willing to skip the post match conference to visit Robben in the hospital. ;)

Nobody makes a big deal of it because the pundits (Richard Keys, Redknapp, Green et al) choose to ignore it. There was another major incident in a big match yesterday which was simply laughed off, however had it been a Chelsea player, they'd be calling for bans, points deduction and all sorts.
I think you'll find the majority of forum opinions are based on what one of those wankers said. Sheep mentality at it's finest.

Gosh, how can you do it day in and day out? If Gerrard didn't fall for a penalty and then for a foul, please tell us why did he fall at all?

It's complete dishonesty when the captain of a European glory team says:
“I don't think there's anything worse than a player diving when no one's been anywhere near him. It does ruin the game. If I saw a team-mate doing it, I would definitely have a word."

Hey i know Robben dives i aint blind but he also get his fair share of legitamit fouls which dont get called..... I was watching the Chelea game and Robben came on the Commentators started giving him shit for going to ground easy even though he was fouled....Then everytime he got the ball they be saying shite about him staying on feet and stuff.
One incident was when he was chasing a ball in the box and was between 2 west ham defenders when the defender in the front went down robben cliped him and went down as did the defender behind Robben all three ended on the ground yet the commentators were say stuff about Robben diving for it......its become a fucking joke now if it doesnt invole a chelsea player then its all good and isnt a problem.
Another good example was Maniche being sent off....Scaloni was late with grab and acting yet Maniche gets a straight red when he hardly touched him....but Brown from fulham goes in 2 footed on some portsmouth player nearly breaking his leg. But nothing is even said about it or made into a big incident.

Didn't Brown get sent off for that challenge?
Also its natural for commentators to pick on player's who are known to dive. Don't get me wrong mate I ain't defending Gerrard's dive (although I haven't seen it) but I'm just saying its human nature to pick on repeat offenders.

lol.....if Reina used his pea sized brain he would have known that touching another players face was going to get him in trouble no matter if Robben made a meal of it...Also the ref said he sent Reina off for the tackle and not the Robben incident which he didnt see.

He didn't, he said he was sent off for the 'punch' to Robben.
I knew we'd get loads of Chelsea fans on this thread ;) . Fair enough, it was a (bad attempt at) a dive, and Stevie deserves any criticism he gets. Let's just hope it was a one off.
well, there was the dubious penalty against Milan too.....

That particular dive in the box by gerrard was disgraceful...it's as bad as any player ever diving. i saw it in slow motion on MOTD2 and it looked really bad.
Hope he doesn't do it again.

Every god damn week its the same bloody thing brought up and every week its chelsea fans bringing it up around 3 weeks ago i think it was either on MOTD or the premiership in ireland ( the football show with proper pundits) they talked about chelsea, there manager, players and fans all having a new siege mentality with the whole world is against is bull.
End of the day the team has shown week in week out they get points by unfair means be it terry the starfish with his multiple handballs or robben the dutch olympic diver. The reason they get the slack is because they deserve it. Ronaldo deserves it too but he has kinda cleaned up his game a bit. I cant think of one game this season were there was no controversy in a chelsea game be it crowding teh ref, handballs, diving etc.
If the team just copped on and played like they can they would be talked about on forums and in papers for there football surely there fans think the same.

Dude do you even watch any football? Or even read match reports? First you got the Brown incident wrong, now you're telling us the referee sent Reina off for the tackle? Did you watch the game? Sheesh you have got to be kidding me..

here's another liverpool supporter agreeing, it was a dive. the league needs to institute some form of punishment for divers. it's really getting out of control in the prem league. it never used to be and the arguement that it's influence from the continent was accurate but now its just bollocks. i hope rafa and some of his teamates had a go at him.
