WoW Yeah, they REALLY like to go at it, it's crazy.
I have a question for you man, I'm not trying to start anything but I'm just curious as to how someone can support both the US and Mexican national teams. I guess I could understand it under certain circumstances but considering how strong the rivalry has become over the past 4-5 years, it just seems pretty strange to me. Just wondering, that's all, don't take offence to it. :p

well i've had to explain this a few times here:D
I was raised in San Diego, spanish was my first language, and I go down to mexico often. As a young boy i would spend my summers in guadalajara, my father introduced me to football at a very young age and and had me watching the FMF at age 6. I was raised in a mexican household in San Diego. I am Mexican American.......
When it all comes down to it though im rooting for the USA, i dont think the rivalry would be the same without marquez, who has said he hates americans, lol:D . In my oppinion the rivalry is worthless because they both are going to qualify for a bunch of WC's to come, and the rest of the concacaaf is pretty week.
When i bought the New mexico jersey at a local football store i boought a US jersey too. The guy behind the desk looked at me like " wait you know these two are rivals right":D
edit: look at devian, he supports Argentina & ENgland, last time i checked thats a huge rivalry:D
WHy AM i being Singled out !!!!!!:)
heh, alright then fair enough. Its not that I singled you out though, it just something that I noticed. I hadn't even looked at devian's national teams.

Would be embarassing if America loses :|
but good thing that by that time, they will have everyone, (Memo Ochoa, Pavel Pardo.. and someone else I cant think of)
btw... Barca will be coming to the U.S and Mexico in August to play some clubs. Do you know which teams? No one ever wants to play Cruz Azul :( Only America (2003 - America v Barca, America won like 2-1, Barca with Marquez + Ronalinho :o) and Chivas (2005 - Chivas v Real Madrid - 1-3, they were winning... then Real came and scored 3)..

Sorry bro, the only team set in stone is the New York Red Bulls.
Cruz Azul I could actually see being one of the chosen teams. Maybe Monterrey, Necaxa, or maybe even U.N.A.M.:p
Just kidding on that last one but; I expect to see either The National Team (B) , lol, or Club America at least.

Lavolpe takes his yerno the good for absolutely nothing Chiquis to Germany and Jimmy Lozano who played his ass off during qualifying and is a quality player gets treated like the trash.    No ma. How could he do that?
Am I the only one upset by this? It's outrageous. Lozano was one of the few good things (aside from Kikin and ok I have a soft spot for Omarcito) during that pathetic Congo send-off.
And Suarez? C'mon.

Well here is the Official squad
Squad:
Goalkeepers: Oswaldo Sanchez (Guadalajara/Chivas), Guillermo Ochoa (America), Jesus Corona (UAG/Tecos)
Defenders: Jose Antonio Castro (America), Rafael Marquez (Barcelona), Mario Mendez (Monterrey), Ricardo Osorio (Cruz Azul), Francisco Rodriguez (Guadalajara/Chivas), Carlos Salcido (Guadalajara/Chivas), Claudio Suarez (Chivas USA), Andres Guardado (Atlas), Gonzalo Pineda (Guadalajara/Chivas)
Midfielders: Luis Perez (Monterrey), Pavel Pardo (America), Antonio Naelson (Toluca), Rafael Garcia (Atlas), Gerardo Torrado (Cruz Azul), Ramon Morales (Guadalajara/Chivas)
Forwards: Jared Borgetti (Bolton Wanderers), Guillermo Franco (Villarreal), Francisco Fonseca (Cruz Azul), Omar Bravo (Guadalajara/Chivas), Jesus Arellano (Monterrey).
what are you're guys views?
I think Lozano should def. be in there....
I dont think Suarez should be in there, i mean he's played well in the MLS but seriously if you were going to a defender take Joel Huiqui
Also i dont Arellano's old ass will doanything, but we will see...
I also like the pick of Andres Guardado from atlas, he is a very good young talent...

How could he do that?
I guess those are the benefits of being Lavolpe's son-in-law.
I know Maza was never going to miss the team, but that still doesn't excuse the fact that he's terrible. * shivers *

It's scandalous. And the way he treated Lozano after he played so solidly through qualifying and even on FRIDAY. No one I know likes Chiquis. Maybe he'll light Lavolpe's cigarettes for him on the sidelines.
Maza is inconsistent on a good day, but it's the air factor I think. Gringo Castro has been playing well lately. And, yeah, why give a spot to el Emperador at this point? he's not going to play. Though Huiqui did pick up a small injury at training camp in April, he'd still be better there.
Cabrito can be really good if he is fit and wants to play. I think Lavolpe is betting on both. And Gonzo (I'm a Pumas gal, so I still like him even if he's a traitor now) is quietly a quality player. I really like Guardado -- he's amazing, could be a surprise tactic, but he's inexperienced even at club level.
Overall the squad looks good in terms of the names called up. Let's just hope the mental curse is broken and that polemics are at a minimum.

My father swore which is so uncommon that i was eve surpirsed, i almopst cried...
TYhe Chivas game today was the best football game i think ive ever seen in my life, and because the FMF is play offs are bull shit
reason: If a game is tied total score it dosent go into overtime they jsut give the win to the higher seeded team... that is total bull shit, even if One team is winning on away goals aggrogete they still give the higher seed the Win, its stupis, I mean if you are not going to count away goals you might aswell make the game go into OT...
BTW the chivas game was an instant classc, they were the 8 seed, they played the one seed, Pachuca, then Pachuca scored in the 93rd minute to bring the two game score to 5-5 Chivas won 3-2 at pachuca, when they were missing 6 MNT players.....
I'm going to watch the game three times over to put me asleep

I'm still mad at Lavolpe for the Jimmy thing.
Eres Chivista entonces! Yo no (goya, goya...) At least you still have the Libertadores.
It was an amazing game. I was going for Pachuca because Chivas beat Jaguares, which is my #2 team. A nail-biter. I don't like Bofo though at all.
I hate play-offs. I think they're stupid and shouldn't ever happen. The season should be longer and do it like they do in Europe, Argentina etc. Also, relying on percentages before relegation mean the big teams always stay in -- it's for the $$ and sponsors. Dorados did well and should have stayed in this year.
Maza is inconsistent on a good day, but it's the air factor I think. That's the ONLY reason Maza gets called up, he'd be nowhere near the seleccion if he was of average height.
I was upset that Jimmy didn't get chosen as well but apart from the fact that Lavolpe wasn't about to upset his daughter, Jimmy didn't play all that well during the Confederations Cup and soon thereafter. It was only until recently that he was getting back to the level he usually plays at. I think Lavolpe was perhaps a little weary of bringing along Lozano after he played poorly that tournament. It may sound ridiculous but that's my theory. :p It still doesn't make it right to leave him off though, he could have been at the very least a good player to bring off the bench late in games due to him being very good at sending crosses and in set pieces.
I'm not all that upset about Suarez being there as long as he doesn't play, god forbid he's in the lineup when we play Portugal and Cristiano Ronaldo blows right by him.
The one thing that worries me most is that the team might get overconfident with the group we've got. The general consensus after the draw was that apart from Portugal, we'd qualify easily. Experts were saying it, some players were saying it and even fans were saying it. I hope we don't see what happened in '78 happen in Germany, it was a similar situation then.

eehhh the championship was hardly a great game, would have rather seen my chivas:D .
I think Landin Is playing like a super-star and he may be the next Mexican to make the jump to Europe. I really thought he was deserving of a spot on the 23 man NT roster. I hope this kid keeps it up and I look forward to watching him in the future.

Esta es la contagiosa y emotiva letra del himno.
América, América
Estoy contigo oye mi corazón
América, América
No te detengas tú serás el campeón.
Hoy mira el águila que llega
Majestuosa y audaz
Oye su canto es el canto
Del que viene a triunfar.
Cuando las águilas atacan
Con coraje y con fe
Tiembra el estadio casi estalla
Cuando llegan al gol.
América, América
Estoy contigo oye mi corazón
América, América
No te detengas tú serás el campeón.
Águilas vamos sigan adelante
Al ataque final
Con mucha garra y con entrega
Nadie nos detendrá.
Hoy es día grande en la cancha
Once estrellas verás,
Son once águilas valientes
De amarillo y azul.
América, América
Estoy contigo oye mi corazón
América, América
No te detengas ¡tú serás el campeón!.

I've got a question about the number of confederations Mexico can belong to. Mexico can be in Copa America and in the Concacaf Gold Cup. Mexican clubs can play in both the Copa Libertadores and the Concacaf Champions Cup. How is that possible? Since America won the Champions Cup, does that mean they were ineligible for the Libertadores?
Also, how do you guys think America will do in at the Club World Championship in December? If they get to face a midseason Barca, I think the best score we can hope for is 8-4 Barca. Maybe they'll prove me wrong.

dont get too pumped over there goals against barca..but indeed america have some top notch strikers
Mexican teams are invited to play in the south american tournaments but belong to concacaf... MLS is also involved in copa america.
There ususally is a tournament with 8 or so Mexican clubs to decide who gets the two spots in libertadores. Last year it was Chivas and (Montery?) cant remeber but they had the tournament up here in the states(too see who qualified for libertadores)
I hope that brings clarity but im playing fifa online currently and dont have too much time to type:D

Trying to understand how a continental championship works in the Americas defies any sort logic. The system (or lack thereof) seemingly changes annually, so I'll try to use this past season as an example.
Mexican teams are eligible for Copa Libertadores, Champions' Cup, Copa Sudamericana, and the Club World Cup.
Club World Cup:
The winner of the CONCACAF Champions' Cup and Copa Libertdadores are invited to the Club World Cup, so in this instance, America, as winner of the 2006 Champions' Cup, will travel to Japan.
Copa Sudamericana:
CONCACAF are given three spots for Copa Sudamericana. This year, for Mexico, Pachuca, as Clausura 2006 winner are given a birth, and Toluca, as the Champions' Cup runner-up, enter the tournament. Despite winning the Champions' Cup, America will not participate in Copa Sudamericana because of conflicts with the Club World Cup.
Champions' Cup:
Mexico receive two spots in the Champions' Cup Quarterfinals, those being the two Liguilla winners from the calendar year. For 2007, it will be Pachuca (Clausura 2006 champion) and the winner of Apertura 2006.
Copa Libertadores:
This is where all hell breaks loose. Mexico gets three entries into Libertadores, designated Mexico 1, Mexico 2, and Mexico 3. The latter two are determined by the InterLiga, which sirmax referenced. The other team, Mexico 1 is somewhat mysterious. This season, it was given to Pumas, as they were the last team to win the Primera, but not participate in Libertadores. Pachuca, along with the winner of this season's Apertura, will be competing in the Champions' Cup next season, therefore not allowing them to partake in Libertadores 2007. So, using that set of rules, Toluca, winner of Apertura 2005, will be given the spot of Mexico 1, provided they don't emerge from InterLiga.
Shake. Rinse. Repeat.

This week looks too be very exciting, I hopefully will start capping by then and will be able to post a couple of these matches
On Saturday we'll have:
Atlas- America
reason to watch: Atlas have started hot the last two season, and this one is now different. Atlas whooped on Tecos last week 6-1 and seem to have the Best Player in In Mexico, under 20 (Andres Guardado)! America also added a couple class strikers and after there 4-4 showing with Barca seem to have a flashy offense with new additions Nelson Cuevas and Oscar Rojas. Should be a shoot out!
Monterrey vs Cruz Azul
Cruz Azul is Kikin-less, but that wont stop them, one of the more exciting teams to watch in all of Latin-america, they have started off with two 1 goal wins, On the other hand Sebastian Abreu put in two goals for Monterrey last week against Pachuca. And who doesn’t enjoy watching Cruz Azul's “El Chelito” and Gerrardo Torrado?
then the big showdown is on Sunday
Chivas vs Pachuca
Chivas are playing last years champions, Pachuca. Chivas started out a team mainly of backups against Toluca and only lost 1-0, then came back to beat Santos 3-1, in a game they dominated. They seem to be prepped for a great season, but standing in the way for Chivas second win is Pachuca, with argentinen born, and nationalized Mexican Angel Landin. Pachuca played Chivas in last years Semi-final in what might have been the game of last season. Pachuca needed a late goal and scored it. Chivas lost there spot in the finals and will be looking for revenge. Pachuca will be looking to right there ship after starting out the season with two one goal losses.

tonight's america - jaguares match-up should be one of the better ones since it'll be cabañas' first match against his old team.
And I'm a Puma's gal, so watching America lose would be sweet :D
And the only news I can think of is that Omar Bravo (one of my fave Mex players) got demoted to the reserves...kinda unfairly I think? Or was he really outta line?

I haven't been freaking out too bad for the past few temporadas, but now I am. Pumas are LAST in the tabla. And looking at going down. Even Queretaro and Veracruz are above Pumas right now. It's shameful. :o
I don't know what's wrong, but it's been ages since they picked up good players. They only sell off...and then get random ones. And Leandro is a key player. This is getting tragic. They keep changing tecnicos, but I think it's the stupid administration that refuses to spend the $$ they need to.

well UNAM is not known for its dinero. Unfortunately, HECHO en CU is getting only defenders but this team has not replaced the likes of Kikin, Lozano, Pineda and Marioni. How many argentina guys are on this squad now? Marioni still has more goals than them combined.
I blame Hugo Sanchez since this team spiralled down right when he was about to leave, especially the Concacaf champions league final loss to Saprisa. Miguel Espana was a bigger baboso for not taking the libertadores games seriously either.
Final rant, this relegation table thing is stupid. Is it still based on a combo of 3 seasons or just 2? Just hope we dont go from saying ARRIBA PUMAS to Abajo Pumas :(

The relegation table is ridiculous. I think it's still 2 full seasons (clausura y apertura), but I know they were changing it. Can't believe that, who was it? San Luis I think that came in 3 or something overall and then still got relegated. The system so totally favors the big clubs -- makes sure they can have a crappy season or several and not fear losing their $$$ ever by going down.

yeah you are right, and I though the cruz Azul- America game was pretty dreary for the rivals that they are. And Jaguares beating Atlas surprised me aswell. The best thing about the Primera Division is that it has so much depth, on any given saturday any team can beat any team.

hear the news sobre the USA and Mexico Champions league style tournament?
well here it is......
http://soccernet.espn.go.com/columns/story?id=381597&root=mls&cc=5901
The ballad is performed before nearly every Chivas USA home game. For some in the stands, the song seems to evoke nostalgia -- but it might not be a sentiment connected to the team on the field. The historical ties to Chivas rest with the team in Mexico.
In only its second year, Chivas USA has reached something of an existential crisis. When the team debuted in 2005, the club's identity rested squarely on the shoulders of its parent entity, Club Deportivo de Guadalajara, one of Mexico's most storied squads. Jorge Vergara, the flamboyant owner of both teams, promised that the young Mexican talent he brought into Major League Soccer would bring new excitement and skillful play.
Instead, the club nearly set an all-time record for losses, finishing dead last in the league standings. Yet the team drew well on the road. Many loyal fans of the parent club came to MLS games for the first time to show their support to the "little brother" of Guadalajara.
The Guadalajara fan base is incredibly large and enthusiastic. The team recently celebrated a hundred years of history. It is arguably the most popular club in Mexico. Yet there is a certain amount of baggage tied in with the club's famous policy of fielding only Mexican-born players.
By contrast, Chivas USA was never an all-Mexican team. In that first shaky year, though, it fielded a much greater number of Mexican players than it does today, many of them young prospects from the reserve squad of the parent club. The team was even guided by Hans Westerhof (once he replaced Thomas Rongen), who had also coached at Guadalajara.
The lack of success triggered a complete overhaul of the team. Bob Bradley was brought in as coach, and a number of original players were released. Bradley stocked his roster with proven MLS veterans such as Jesse Marsch and Ante Razov, then mixed in talented youngsters such as Sasha Kljestan and Jonathan Bornstein.
The team kept the attacking philosophy the owners had touted from the start, but with more defensive discipline. After a string of better results this season, Chivas USA has a solid chance to keep the playoff spot the team now holds. The squad is tipped by some to be the dark horse to win the Western Conference championship and contend for an MLS title.
Yet it's hard to tell whether the team has been as successful in gaining its own fans. Part of the problem might stem from the fact that Chivas Guadalajara has long trumpeted its branding as being 100 percent Mexican. To those drawn to that label of authenticity, Chivas USA can seem as watered down as Taco Bell is relative to real Mexican cuisine.
There are star players on the team who are Mexican, of course. Francisco (Paco) Palencia is the highest-salaried player in MLS, and Claudio Suarez is a veteran of multiple World Cup teams. Juan Pablo Garcia and Francisco Mendoza are young talents. Although veteran Ramon Ramirez has been placed on the season-ending injury list with a knee ailment, the club has recently signed Jesus Morales and Johnny Garcia.
For those supporters who have been faithful to Guadalajara's uncompromising standard, Chivas USA might seem a pale imitation, running around in uniforms similar to the real deal. Even though a recent friendly match against Mexico's Club America, considered the greatest rival of Chivas Guadalajara, was played in Chivas USA's own stadium, the Club America fans who came to the match outnumbered those of the home team.
If Vergara became something of a savior for a Chivas Guadalajara team that had been co-opted by commercial interests before his involvement, Chivas USA co-owner Antonio Cue might hold that role one day for the MLS counterpart. Bilingual, relentlessly optimistic and enthusiastic, Cue has held since the team's inception that the concept of Mexican heritage and inspiration that infuses Chivas USA one day will win the hearts of fans of all stripes.
To Cue's credit, he realizes that part of the problem for Chivas USA in gaining their own fans is the low opinion many Hispanics have of the league in general. That's why he views the proposed Champion's League-style tournament between the Mexican league and MLS as vital to proving that perception wrong.
"We think the way to get credibility is the way the U.S. national team has done, and that is to play international games," Cue said. "What better league to play than the Mexican league? It's the one that is closest to us, first of all. Second of all, there is a lot of passion between the U.S. and Mexico in soccer."
Cue's example is an incredibly vivid one because the U.S. national team for so long was thought of as practically inconsequential in soccer relative to Mexico. Now, there is a true rivalry, what is known in Spanish as a "classico."
"We're trying to do a tournament next year," Cue said. "We should be announcing it in the months to come. If it's not 2007, then 2008, but I'm looking very optimistically at 2007."
The format would involve only the top teams from each league. In theory, three countries could participate, since Canada is joining MLS next year with a team based in Toronto.
"I would love to see the top six teams in the U.S. against the top six Mexico teams for a big prize," Cue said. "We have the opportunity in America to create an important tournament."
It might go a long way toward opening some eyes on both sides of the border. Except for friendlies, which are always excused as meaningless, MLS teams face little international competition. Potential fans often have little reason to view a league match.
The marketing strategy behind the tournament also cleverly turns the traditional shunning of MLS by some fans around. It gives those supporters an opportunity to see their preferred squad in person, but at the same time, MLS teams reap a share of the profit and place their product front and center.
"It's true that the league isn't seen much in Mexico," Chivas USA defender Suarez said. "They focus more on their own soccer, so they know little about it."
That's part of the reason Juan Pablo Garcia worried recently that his MLS play would go unnoticed by whoever becomes the new coach of Mexico's national team. Suarez was more optimistic.
"Any new coach should be keeping track of potential players even if they're outside that league," Suarez said. "Hopefully, he's watching me, so that if I play well, I can get called up."
Of course, there's the inevitable scenario of one Chivas team possibly meeting the other in competition. It's not far-fetched that Chivas USA could win, either, as the squad is undefeated in its matches against Club America, although those were friendlies, of course.
A championship run for Chivas USA no doubt is the primary objective for the team this season. Looking ahead, however, a win against its "big brother" in tournament play might truly establish Chivas USA in its own right.
By bringing a little bit of Mexico to the league, both in the team and in the upcoming tournament, Chivas USA and MLS have taken a step toward waking fans who have spent most of their time dreaming of leagues far away.
this could huge, cant wait to see if it happens, would love to see some important club matches between Mexican and American teams

Klinsmann gets offers from U.S., Mexico, adviser says
BERLIN -- Former Germany coach Juergen Klinsmann has received "serious" offers to coach from Mexico and the United States, a Klinsmann adviser said on Sunday.
Roland Eitel told Bild am Sonntag newspaper it was still unclear whether Klinsmann, who led an unfancied Germany team to third place, would return to the sidelines.
"Juergen has enough work to do right now," Eitel said, noting he had two years worth of work to catch up on at his California firm Soccer Solutions. Eitel said Klinsmann is also analysing training and match data from his two years as coach.
Eitel said Klinsmann had received coaching offers from Mexico and the United States.
"And they're all serious," he said. But when asked if Klinsmann would take any job, Eitel said: "We'll have to wait and see."
Klinsmann said after the World Cup he planned to take six months off before making any further plans.
Ricardo La Volpe left Mexico after his contract ended after they lost 2-1 to Argentina in the second round at the World Cup in Germany. La Volpe moved to Boca Juniors, the most popular club in his native Argentina.
U.S. coach Bruce Arena's contract was not renewed after the Americans were knocked out of the World Cup at the group stage. The president of U.S. Soccer, Sunil Gulati, has identified Klinsmann as a top choice.

This looks like gamesmanship by the Mexican Federation. They know Klinsman is one of our top choices, so they want USSF to sweat it out a bit and pay higher salary. Also, they may be trying a bit of a head fake. Making the U.S. commit to Klinsman so that they can swoop in for Peckerman. My 2 cents.

First off the FMF never made an offer to Klinsmann and second blaming Mexico for the US' bad negotiations is ridiculous.
Third \/
PACHUCA, Mexico, Nov 16 (Reuters) - Hugo Sanchez, a former Real Madrid striker who is widely considered Mexico's best-ever player, was named national team coach on Thursday.
Sanchez, who won five consecutive league titles with Real Madrid in the 1980s alongside the likes of Emilio Butragueno, had been coach of Necaxa in Mexico's club championship.
Sanchez, 48, was five times the top scorer in Spain's Primera Liga He replaces Ricardo La Volpe, now manager at Argentina's Boca Juniors, as Mexican coach.
Known as "Hugol", a combination of his name and the word for "goal" in Spanish, Sanchez had long been tipped to coach Mexico.
"The time has come for Hugo," former Argentina captain Diego Maradona said last week.
Sanchez's outspoken nature and ranting about refereeing decisions had previously prompted the Mexican Football Federation to hand the job to other candidates.
As a player at club level, he won trophies galore. But his biggest soccer disappointment was at national level, with Mexico a constant underperformer in major championships.

America v Chivas
and
Toluca - Pachuca.
I think Chivas will pull it off, and I hope to god that Toluca will fucking get blown out! I mean Behind America i hate Toluca the most, even more then Atlas, who I was hopeing would beat America. But TBH, I think we're a better team and i can't wait to see blanco be raped.
I'm sad Cruz Azul is out. They are my favorite team. I like everything about them. I particularly think that Cesar Delgado has got to be the best player in all of Mexico. I don't particularly like the Mexican football, I have issues with the style of play and the fitness level is not there for a lot of matches (definitely not the pace of the EPL thats for sure). But I will watch when Cruz Azul plays. Delgado is a master, should have been in the Argentina selection for the World Cup IMO.
Hey - does anyone have video of the last few minutes of the Boca-Chivas 2005 Libertadores return leg where Bofo was sent off and then was spit on by Benitez and attacked by fans. I would like the on field altercation and then the ensuing events. Thx.

I know the incident you are talking about exactly.

the video is about 1:30 long, and the spitting is about 50 second in

I feel the same way. I like watching the Blue Cross every weekend, and If I'm prepared to watch another match(after my EPL and Chivas + Atlas(including MLS)) I 'm sure to watch Cruz Azul. They are the Arsenal of Mexican Football and 'El Chelito" Delgado is a stud. I wished we had America first so we could BTA then got Cruz Azul in the semis.

I was able to find that video, but it misses all the really good parts. The spitting is good, but I'd love to see all of the antics on the pitch before Bofo got red and then the post-spitting attack, where the fan scales the wall and attacks him and climbs back over and then the ball boy tries to kick him. That was really crazy and the riot police were doing nothing to help at all.

Los Cementeros have always been my team but due to Kikin Fonseca's departure they have been dull, Chelito is still great though. Its more like America/Arsenal, Chivas/ManUtd, Cruz Azul/Chelsea, and Atlas/Tottenham.

I am a fan of argentinian football, but having watched many teams from Mexico in Sudamerican the last years I can say that the teams there have improved greatly.
A couple of quick questions.
Do you like this championship system with the play-offs ?
Do you find it fair ?
Also, a question about a player.
Argentinian striker Emanuel Villa who plays for Atlas.
What's your opinion about him ? Do you know if there are any rumours about him leaving the club ?
Thanks

I personally dont like the championship system is a bit strange but eh.
It seems pretty fair to me.
Villa is pretty average I think the best Argentinian strikers in Mexico have to be Bruno Marioni and Cesar Delgado both score alot of goals. If Villa leaves then I dont think it will effect them much but why would he leave in the first place they love him there.

The MLS/MFL tournament is next summer. In July and August, I believe. This year is kind of a test run for it with it being by invitation, starting in 2008 there will be qualifications set up with, I believe, either a Copa Lib or Sud spot(s) up for grabs.
This season it'll be in champions league format with 2 groups
Group A:FC Dallas, Chivas Guad., Cruz Azul, LA Galaxy
Group B:Chicago Fire, DC United, Morelia, Club America
The prize for winning this season is rumored to be $2 million and most, if not all, of the games will be on Telefutura as well as a weekly MLS Sunday night game on Telefutura.....should be awesome!
Edit:Oh, and all the games will be in the USA this season for the tournament.

No site yet, I only have the info on the teams because I asked the Dallas GM Michael Hitchcock and he told me. They announced the tournament on Republica Deportivo before MLS Cup. Hitch told me that Dallas would be hosting all of our group games, so I'd imagine HDC will host the LA games vs Chivas and Cruz Azul. Toyota Park and RFK will probably host the games in the other group. Who knows about the semi-finals and finals but they'll probably announce it in January.

Not a bad result for Pachuca considering they were playing a bunch of backups.

lol, you should have invited me :o ;).
I told the three America fans on my soccer team 2-0, and I was going to bet on the game, but I was rushed out of my house. Thank god for DvR.
A 2-0 win is huge, and Oswaldo saved a PK. Now we just cant get screwed by the aggregate goal rule, like last year.

yup. yup. yup. just was about to say the same thing.
Pachuca have a decent side but IMO isn't even top 4 in Mexico, and only won the league 7 months ago because all the Mexican National teamers were gone. This just shows the Depth and the Skill in the Mexican league. And how our league is the best on North/south America.
