Hiddink is leaving his current role as PSV Eindhoven coach in the summer, but his summer will not be a quiet one as he will be guiding Australia through their inangrual World Cup tournament.
Now Hiddink has confirmed that he has accepted an offer from the Russian Football Union (RFU) to succeed Yuri Semin - who quit last November after failing to guide them to the World Cup finals.
Russia have now won the race for Hiddink's signature - with some reports stating that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has helped to finance the deal.
Speaking to Dutch television programme Holland Sport - Hiddink admitted that he would be Russia's new supremo.
"I'm glad that this is off my chest now," said Hiddink.
