Match is tomorrow at 7 pm EST. Another friendly for players looking to make the squad, just hope it doesn't a feature a mental lapse like Germany.
ROSTER BY POSITION
Goalkeepers (2) – Tony Meola (New York Red Bulls), Matt Reis (New England Revolution)
Defenders (5) – Chris Albright (Los Angeles Galaxy), Nick Garcia (Kansas City Wizards), Frankie Hejduk (Columbus Crew), Pablo Mastroeni (Colorado Rapids), Eddie Pope (Real Salt Lake)
Midfielders (7) – Clint Dempsey (New England Revolution), Landon Donovan (Los Angeles Galaxy), Pat Noonan (New England Revolution), John O’Brien (out of contract), Ben Olsen (D.C. United), Steve Ralston (New England Revolution), Kerry Zavagnin (Kansas City Wizards)
Forwards (4) – Brian Ching (Houston Dynamo), Eddie Johnson (Kansas City Wizards), Taylor Twellman (New England Revolution), Josh Wolff (Kansas City Wizards)
Good to see Pope back in the CB's role and I'll be interested to see if Meola wins his 100th cap for the US.
Prediction, 3-1 USA.

i read somewhere today about meola talking about his first game. he was 19 in 1988. fouled an ecuador player and lost the game 1-0. he thought they would never invite him back to the team. but now hes at 100 caps. hes been good. i remember him be at his peak when he was at kansas city. didn't see him much before or after that. i don't even think jamica is gonna even score. US 4-0
edit: i guess u can change o'biren from out of contract to chivas USA

Definitely what will be THE most interesting aspect to me is actually seeing a healthy John O'Brien. The Gold Cup was l-o-n-g time ago.

this match will probably bit a no brainer. usa will definitely win. i just don't know why Arena scheduled this easy friendly, with all due respect to Jaimaca of course. man, i wish we had this roster against germany :D

damn, so Arena still think that O'brien isn't fit yet? I want to see O'brien play.

Maybe (freely speculating here) he figures if JOB is healthy/fit he's a lock for Germany and who Arena really wants to take a look at are the bubble guys (Olsen Noonan, Ralston[?!?]) I'd also venture that even if he's "ready" to play, there's no chance he can go 90, so we may still see him as a 2nd half sub.
Big game for Ching, who's started the MLS season on a tear, but has really been invisible for the Nats for ages now and will need, IMHO, to show something when he gets substituted in.

Trust me, I'm not much of a fan of his either and might actually cry if he makes the final 23, but even after all this time and his poor play in internationals, the other guys in the forward pool haven't seperated themselves from him. Sadly.
After practice with the kids tonight, the family went to CiCi's pizza. They had talking heads on Sportcenter on with no sound on the TVs. I asked if they could put one of the sets on ESPN2 and I caught the first fifteen or so minutes of the second half. Then they flipped it back to the meaningless talking heads. Whenever I think we might be gaining ground in this country, I get a good little reminder of where we really are.
