old? hes only 28[well i think 29 this year]isnt that the age when they reckon they are in they're prime, but like all the top players at madrid i think they have all been there to long now and need a change,so maybe this is what he needs, and could be a good signing for us :)

I reckon it takes a season for a player to really adjust to the pace of the prem so by the time he's settled in he'll be nearing 30, there are better younger options IMO.

Bring some players through from the youth, thats the way of the future instead of paying aged past thier best strikers. They wouldn´t be letting him go if he was still top.
If they let Ronaldo go, then ok. He remains a game decider.

No thanks. Maybe 5 years ago. But not now.
Raul's 31 isn't he? Something like that? We don't need another 30+ striker, when we already have a succesful one in the lineup who is willing to play as back-up. And is used to the Prem and can score regularly.

Raul's agent has played down talk linking the Real Madrid superstar with a possible move to Liverpool.
Fresh reports emanating from England this week suggested Liverpool were lining up a shock swoop for Raul at the end of this season.
Liverpool have been credited with an interest in Raul for some time with Reds boss Rafa Benitez thought to be a big fan of the Spanish international.
Speculation intensified over a possible move to Liverpool after Raul was spotted at Anfield watching some games while he was injured at the end of last year.
Raul still has four years to run on his current contract at El Santiago Bernabeu and the forward's representative Gines Carvajal insists he has not heard anything from Real Madrid or Liverpool.
"I remember that Raul has a contract signed until June 2010 and until now the club have not said that it is interested in his departure," said Carvajal.
Real vice-president Emilio Butragueno was also remaining coy on the rumours
saying: "Real Madrid never comments about the news in the press."
Benitez is thought to be in the market for a new striker in the summer, but it seems unlikely that Raul could become the latest Spanish star to make his way to Anfield.

Raul is 28 year old. Not as old as you are imagining him to be.

That's insane. For free sure not, definitely for a fee. Raul has contract with Madrid until 2010.

The biggest issue for Liverpool is getting rid of Morientes. It just isn't reasonable for him to keep calling for a chance to prove his worth. Every week we hear how he is going to hit his peak again, and that we have to keep playing him or he'll never get it. This won't cut it! I have two words for you, "Emile" and "Heskey" - that "Sleeping Giant" is in a f**king coma these days, and I can't see Morientes going any other way. This needs a brave decision, cut him loose while we'll still get 4million from someone. At least Fowler is scoring goals, he probably has the best minutes/goals ratio in the side (some stat-geek prove me wrong, go on...)
As much as I dislike him, we'd do better with someone like Craig Bellamy - the dude plays like every game is his last game - like Fowler always did, Morientes plays like he'd rather be somewhere else. And Raul? No chance, after Real he'd find it a real shock coming here - he won't get his way anymore, and I doubt he'd flourish here. But if Benitez thinks he can do it, i would support him if he came.

Why would madrid give him free.
when fans treat him as god in madrid.
I think this is one of the non-sense transfer talk.

madrid won't let their goldenboy leave, they'd have a riot on their hands! liverpool have also been linked with defoe and bellamy, both would work well with crouch i think...also, who knows, maybe owen might return (that is what he wants)
