History
Foundation and early years
The Milan Cricket and Football Club was founded by Herbert Kiplin in Milan, on December 16, 1899. As the name says, initially the club included a cricket section, managed by Edward Berra, while David Allison was the chief of the football section. Immediately AC Milan[b] gained notabilty, and in January 1900 the first trophy - the Medaglia del Re [King's Medal] has been won. In the following years, [b]AC Milan won three national leagues (1901, 1906 and 1907). The triumph of 1901 was particularly relevant because AC Milan stopped the run of victories of Genoa, which was the only Italian team to have ever won the league. In 1908, because of issues related to the wish to sign foreign players, some split from AC Milan and founded the Internazionale Milano, nowadays known as Inter. During the World War I, the Italian league was interrupted, and instead of it a new trophy has been created, whose name was Coppa Federale [Federal Cup]. AC Milan won this trophy in 1916, but this title has not ever been recognized as an Italian league title. In 1919 the team assumed the new name of Milan Football Club. During the 1920s and 30s AC Milan was no longer able to repeat these victories, although it ever played in the top division. In 1938 Mussolini's dictatorship imposed a new italianized name, which was Associazione Calcio Milano [Milan Football Society].
The 1950s
During the post-war period, AC Milan (the name was changed immediately after the World War II in Associazione Calcio Milan) counted plenty of famous and powerful players such as Lorenzo Buffon, Cesare Maldini and Carlo Annovazzi, but the most important were those Swedish players, Gunnar Gren, Gunnar Nordahl and Nils Liedholm, who formed the well-known Gre-No-Li trio. With those gorgeous players, AC Milan won four Serie A seasons (1951, 1955, 1957 and 1959) and two Latin Cups (1951 and 1956). In this decade AC Milan always placed among the top three Italian teams. The team was also runner-up in 1958 European Cup.
El Paròn
In the 1960s, Milan ruled with its two football team. In AC Milan there was a man from Trieste. A man who invented the catenaccio tactic, an innovative football coach. His team included Gianni Rivera, Josè Altafini and, later, Pierino Prati. With him as coach, AC Milan won the Scudetto in 1961/62 and 1967/68, the European Cup in 1963 and 1969, the Cup Winners' Cup in 1968 and the Intercontinental Cup in 1969 against Estudiantes de la Plata. With Nereo Rocco, AC Milan won everything.
I just have to finish it...
