View Full Version : Ferguson is a loser!
Says Maka of Chelsea. I haven't read nor hear Makelele speak out like this before. Interesting words and looks like he has light up another fire of Chelsea VS Man utd
The normally reserved Frenchman is not noted for his outbursts in the press, but Makelele is clearly not an admirer of the Old Trafford taskmaster.
With Chelsea looking all set to wrap up a second successive Premiership title, the influential midfielder has taken the opportunity to unleash a verbal riposte at Ferguson.
Makelele has not been impressed with Ferguson's attempts to unnerve Chelsea this season and concluded that the Scottish tactician's words have merely been laughed off by those at Stamford Bridge.
''I saw what Ferguson was saying before we won at Bolton and I was laughing,'' he told the News of the World.
''I thought the guy was really funny. Maybe even ridiculous.
''I didn't bother watching the Sunderland game, though I had a right laugh when I heard that United had flopped again.
''It must have been the ref again or did Ferguson not whinge this time?''
Continuing his lambast at the Old Trafford outfit, Makelele claims Jose Mourinho stands head and shoulders above his older counterpart and that the West Londoners are also on a higher footing than their northern equivalents.
''It took Ferguson seven years to win the league, it took Mourinho eight months,'' he concluded.
''It must have given Ferguson a complex. But they should get used to second.
''We will win the league because we have the better players, the better manager and the better team.
''Chelsea are not arrogant. Arrogance is to go public and say another team will lose and then lose yourself.
''Only losers do that. In that sense you could say Ferguson is a loser.''

As much as I hate United, I have to say that this time Chelsea have proven that they are the most indisciplined team in the Premiership. Such comments can be made by fans but it is shocking that it is coming from a player. Jose Mourinho is now setting wrong examples by making rash comments about other teams and it is now being followed by his players. Ok, we were all laughing when Feguson said he can win the league, and so must be Chelsea players as well as Liverpool players but some restrain has to be exercised when players comment in public.

I think it's unfair to blame Mourinho on this one. Makelele is a mature and experienced professional that wouldn't be influenced easily. I agree with you when you say that comments like that are just silly from a professional though. Just very rare of him to say somthing like that.

I blame Mourinho because he should be able to control his players. Can a Liverpool or Man U or Arsenal player make such a comment about another manager? There has to be some discipline instilled in the team. Players always follow the same line that is toed by their managers. Despite Mourinho's adverse comments on liverpool, Rafa said that Chelsea were a good team and similar statements were made by Liverpool players. On the other hand Jose says he is more scared of bird flu than United's title challange and now Gallas is following his footsteps.
I just hope that we give Rafa a good transfer budget and he takes the title away from Chelsea next season. Somebody has to put an end to all this arrogance. Makalele says, "Arrogance is to go public and say another team will lose and then lose yourself. Only losers do that. In that sense you could say Ferguson is a loser."
Did Jose Mourinho not do the same thing before the FA Cup semi final against Liverpool and CL semis against Liverpool? So should Sissoko now go and make a press release that "Mourinho is a loser."? Mourinho even was making it clear where he wanted to play the FA Cup final and he was 99.9% sure that his team was going to play in the CL final last season.
Anyway, I had earlier mentioned that Ferguson should not have challanged Chelsea, it would always come back to haunt him, and now it is all happening. But Chelsea are also the same.

I use to admire Makelele and wanted to be like him on the pitch..well his comments really opened my eyes to see what a lil' cunt that he is.
'It took Ferguson seven years to win the league, it took Mourinho eight months,'' he concluded.'
Yea..its real hard to win the league with a team that costs 150 million pounds..

Makelele refutes newspaper story
Sunday, Apr 23, 2006
Claude Makelele has today (Sunday) distanced himself from remarks attributed to him by a national Sunday newspaper.
The newspaper in question has printed comments it claims the French international made about Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
Reacting to the story with a strongly worded statement, Chelsea’s most experienced player says: “The words in the newspaper were never said by me. I have been playing for many, many years and in my career I have not spoken about managers nor players of other teams. There is no reason why I would want to say anything now.
“I have always had total respect for Sir Alex Ferguson, as I have respect for the coaches of all the teams I play against.”

Jeez maybe if Fergie had a neverending bank book when he started out, he would've done the same thing in 8 months. I'm shocked Makalele's gone and said this. He seems to experienced to do such things.
I hope we f**king give them a thrashing this coming weekend. They can have the title, but we'll just remind them what we're all about.

If the comments are true, Makelele's a twat.
But, I have my doubts, as it's from NOTW. Makelele probably said "hello" and then NOTW came up with that.

Wow...thats some big statement right there. What usually happens in a case like this is the person/team that was talking usually end up losing. The teams that actually back up thier talk, are generally AMAZING teams. That also happens rarely...

ty madtroll... it seemed really weird that Makalele would say that.. he's always come across as one of those "quiet leaders", lead by example and not by just talking a lot of rubbish...
... ialso surprised by the posts of most people after you quoted that article

Fergie got "squeaky-bum time" into the English dictionary. :D
(conversation with my Scouser sister on the phone)
Her: "What do you think of Fergie?"
Me: "I think he knows what he's doing. He's limited in terms of money but he's doing rather well given the circumstances."
Her: "What?"
Me: "SAF. He's doing the best he can."
Her: "No... no... the Fergie from Black Eyed Peas."
Me: "Ohhhhh... kinda skanky, thunder thigh'ed. Not enough chest."

everyones entitled to his opinion, Man U need a new manager, fresh air. With that much talent in the team they should have achieved more this season, ok they were second in the league, but the CL and other cups, lossing daft games.

its hard to be consistent with the central midfield united has fielded this season, giggs and o'shea blow hot and cold because when they are playing well they look like worldbeaters at times and when they play badly they look awful and look like they are being played out of position
