What are your thoughts on Newcastle's caretaker manager, Glenn Roeder. He's totally turned Newcastle around IMO and I think he would be great as head coach, hes proven that throughout his stay.

the players have embraced him more than they have souness. He understands what works best w/ the players the have (though I would like to see more of luque). They should keep him on if can get his license

He should definately be given a go. He was relegated with West Ham on a record number of points and was pretty unlucky - I don't think anybody will ever go down on 42 points again.
In answer to your question drumice "who else do you know who has scored 5 goals in a game" - Platt scored 5 for England in the early 90s, Andy Cole scored 5 vs Ipswich for Man U also in the 90s.

I'd love to see Hitzfeild, O'Neill or Renieri. Roeder's been great this season. I wouldn't mind him managing us next season but I still remember him saying that he is not always fully healthy to take this job permanently. So I'll leave it upto him to decide.
If there was a choice for neutral, I'd go for it.

I agree with Roeder staying, after Souness it mustv'e been hell of a job to motivate the players back to winning ways again - and he'd managed to pull it off. So I think he should stay by all means :)

I think it's a no brainer to leave him where he's at but isn't there some qualifications he lacks that makes it impossible to be the permanent/on-paper guy?
