View Full Version : Can Arsenal Get The 4th Spot??

do you think arsenal will get 4th spot, (forget about the possibility of winning the champions league for a moment, although i know its hard too ;))

so if spurs win against the hammers, then they stay 4th in epl,

yet if they draw, and arsenal wins every game of there remaining domestic fixtures, we go fourth?

what do you honestly think...?

I still think Arsenal can do it - Sunderland away should be a guaranteed three points (I know Spurs drew there...).

Man City away is trickier, on Thursday, but winnable.

If Arsenal win both Monday and Thursday's games, then they are certainly favourites... where would you rather play on the final day: Wigan at home, or WHU away...

agreed that sunderland should be a certain win, but then againa s you stated teams havent exactly gone and won as easily as predicted in past/recent games.

man city will be the toughest out of the 3 remaining games, its one we need all players fit for, maybe even a.cole back in the suqad could add the al needed boost, and help onto the win/3 points we need.

as for the last game at wigan home, well, we havent had such a good past with them, being beaten so, but i hope/think we can just about do it ;)

Seems a tough ask at the moment for Arsenal to finish 4th, games in hand are nvr guranteed, & honestly Barca defo favourites for the champs league, either or Arsenal will definelty be my favourites for nxt season Eufa cup.

No, West Ham will rest people for the FA Cup final and Teddy will probably start and give the ball to Spurs intentionally .

Yes, I also think that West Ham will be thinking a bit about a Cup Final, and Tottenham will have no trouble. But, the newly crowned Champions of Europe will ruin the party for ol' Jol.

Barca are favorites, but so were Madrid and Juve...

I think that we can win all the remaining games but my concern Is Tottenham, I really can't see them drawing with West Ham, especially with the FA cup final coming. The Hammers will probably rest some players and their minds will be focused on the big match.

Pardew will rest players ahead of the cup final:(

...had better be the champs of europe .:D

if we do win the competition and spuds 4th, spurs should not complain that they were left out. They only 'qualified' and arsenal actually won the competition.

Yes, but you know they will ;)

And alas, I'm beginning to think 4th isn't possible. Although remember what happened in the Man U v. Sunderland match...stranger things have happened and I think even the West Ham reserves are better than Sunderland's starting XI.

Then again, we can't overlook Sunderland...

I still believe Arsenal can finish 4th. But very very difficult. Good luck!

We're assuming that Arsenal can win 3 games on the trot to end the season with one eye on the CL Final...they've been horribly inconsistent in the League all season, and now they're expected to not only win 3 games in the Prem but also the biggest game of them all in Europe...

So unfortunately, I predict Arsenal finishing 5th in the Prem and losing to a stronger Barca in the Final...although I hope they prove me wrong as a Premier League without Henry wouldn't be as enjoyable (and Henry probably won't stay if there is no CL for the Emirates Stadium next year)...

Looks like Pardew is already saying the reserves will be out :
Pardew revealed he had planned to play his FA Cup final team against Spurs at the weekend but admitted he now had "no chance of doing that".

As long as one of the north London clubs screws over the other one I'll be happy :D

A: Spurs get 4th and Arsenal miss the CL next year
B: Spurs get 4th and Arsenal win the CL and boot Spurs from the CL next year

Cant believe bolton blew that game after totally dominating the first half. Things are looking dark indeed, would be just our luck to miss CL when henry has 1 year left on contract and is considering leaving. After having done so well in the CL for the first time it feels like such a blow that we could be missing out next year :(

They can, but they won't.. at least I hope they won't. I don't think they will win the CL either, barca are too strong.. so better luck next year gunners ;)

I think everyone underestimates arsenals chances just because they have problems against physical teams sometimes. Barca should be a suitable opponent and itll all boil down to who finds the form, Ronaldinho or Henry.

The only european game this year ive seen arsenal play poorly was against villarreal. but they still deserved to go through because arsenal played so much better in first leg than villarreal did in 2nd. Arsenal hardly had any of the ball and villarreal controlled the game, but they lacked the clear chances that arsenal created first leg. Toure ftw :D

too bad you won't win it :D

Obviously, to answer the thread title, yes they can get 4th, but I hope to god that they don't. And then they go on to lose the CL final.

UEFA Cup for Arsenal, Henry sold off, half empty brand new stadium = goodbye Arsenal. wooohoo

You'd really like to see a Premiership without Henry?
Oh wait, nevermind, you only watch us against ManU .

yeah, pretty much (on both accounts)

And what's so bad about only watching you lot when you play my team? It's so incredibly hard to watch other matches, even the other "big" ones (Arsenal v Chelsea, Chelsea v Liverpool, Liverpool v Arsenal, etc) because I simply lose interest in those games because I have no real allegience to any of the teams/players. As far as feelings on it, the only think i'd care about is if Liverpool lost so..

Obviously I don't get into other matches as much as Arsenal matches, but I love football and love the Premiership, so I generally watch three or four matches per week. I'd hate it if players like Gerrard, Rooney, or Lampard left the Premiership because it wouldn't be as entertaining.
Maybe it's because I'm not really into any American sports besides college basketball and golf, but I enjoy watching any football I can (preferably Premiership :)).

I only watch United. it's strange. Though I think I need to start watching Juve, as they are my new second favorite team

Probably because you can't be arsed to wake up at 4:30 am or 6 am unless it's ManU :D. Much easier on the east coast :p.

I DON'T wake up at 4:30 or 6. lol. I just wait and get it off here. I stayed up until 4:30 once. nearly killed me the next day. Didn't wake up until 3 in the afternoon.

I like when we're on at 9am out here, or the monday "night" fixtures that are on at noon. Champions League is great too
