Because he's 17 and you don't put a kid out there when you have quite a few important games to play. There is a huge difference from playing in the Championship to playing in the Premier League against good opposition. Wenger has also been known to pick up young players, groom them slowly in his system and finally releasing them when they are ready. Playing him now could stunt his growth and ability. Thats why so much of his transfer fee was based on performance.

If it makes you feel better, he's made the bench a couple of times.

I heard that if he plays for the first team this year, we have to pay more money to Southampton.

I think Wenger said he would play him this year for the 1st team

Southampton would be good if he wasn't hurt

so Wenger isn't going to play him for the whole year???? :D

anyway if spurs win their last game then i think he shud play Walcott. i dunno which one between Arse and Spurs play first though.

I'm pretty sure Walcott would have started one the last three games but he got injured.

maybe in the final game...surely?

All matches are at the same time and I doubt we play him in a must win match.

That's not true mate.Especially in England,if you are good and deserve to play, you will play no matter what your age is.Rooney,Fabregas anyone...?I'm not saying that Walcott hasn't played yet because of the above but i just mention some facts here:)

That is true, but thats not the Wenger system. Fabregas was ready at the age of 15, but did not play for a year or so until Wenger knew he was ready to fit into his system seamlessly. The extra time also allowed him to adapt to life in London.

Rooney is a bit of an exception. The kid is built like a tank and could handle the rigors of the premiership. Add that onto the fact that Everton was in a bit of a bind and needed a striker at the time, and that was the early emergence of Wayne Rooney.

But I understand your point.

theres no point in playin him now, our last two games are too important for taking risks with untried players. he'll start playing in the 1st team next season

yeah.. first team exposure at his age would surely affect his performance.
Take the eg of Fabregas.. how he has grown this season!!
Hopefully Walcott does the same.
