I think we should begin to come to terms with the fact that he will be rested for the rest of the season and that, rather than risk him again, that is really the best thing barcelona could do for us: deliver argentina a rested, healthy, 100% superstar for the world cup

Of course the best thing for YOU is if you get him rested :P
Im hoping Argentina will do well this wc so we get to see Messi shine at the highest level again, like he did against chelsea in the CL. I do think Messi will need some help from Tevez though, because Crespo isnt about to lead any team to WC glory

it kind of sucks rooney got injured, Messi and Argentina vs Rooney and England in the quarterfinals would be awesome :p

Back on topic now, the CL final. The good thing is, if Messi isnt back, Larsson will probobly play. Even if ill be rooting for arsenal itd be great to see Larsson ending his career with a CL win :)

I hope it is a bluff ... :D

Lionel still has 2 weeks to get ready. But I will certainly settle with him at the WC if it means even a minor risk. :o

of course youll be doing alot of defending if the ref gives a fk every time an argentinian fall over :p

Take freekick. Fall over. Repeat. :D

I wanted to see him there as a sub at least. How could this injury still need 4 to 6 weeks is beyond me. I thought he is already training with the ball

of course I would rather have him 100% for the WC.

I think he will be a sub and come on if needed.

Barzafans want to see him play if he's ok....
but I understand if fans of Argentina want him to rest a few weeks more. ;)

Arsenal first needs to think of how to stop Ronaldinho and Eto'o before being happy that Messi wont be playing. I'm rooting for Arsenal so hoping they wont be ruining the party.

I think there would be some serious unhappieness if he subbed on and reinjured himself. I think you'll see him start, or not dress at all. I dont believe there will be any inbetween. :o

I think that he will play...I wouldn't want Messi to go the WC without any games on his shoulders, I want him to get in rythm ASAP...

I think he's going to be able to play. I think he will be there. He's got over 2 weeks still, and he's had a fair mount of time since his setback. I think he should be good to go.

As i say that, i read an article that states he's got about a 2 percent chance to play in Paris. Ack. Very sad. And if he is too abisious in his rehab, the inside source said he could miss the world cup as well. Now that would be catastrophic.

barca can make it without messi. it's just the game would be more entertaining if he played alongside with ronnie.

Come on messi better play! It will make the occasion that tad bit more exciting and special, with the argentinian maestro's presence

in this article (http://www.sport.es/default.asp?idpublicacio_PK=44&idioma=CAS&idnoticia_PK=302356&idseccio_PK=803&h=) in sport (htt://sport.es) messi says 'maybe I'll play a few minutes on saturday' and that 'there is no doubt I'll be at 100% for the world cup'

so it's nice to know he's healthy..I'm assuming at this point it's just a question of getting back into physical and game shape
but
what game do they have on saturday? is he talking about playing with the reserves?? or have they rescheduled the bilbao game for saturday to rest them for the final
is the sevilla match sans world cup players still on the 20th?

edit: messed up the link

It's the sevilla game that he's talking abt. If he's fit enough not to re-injure himself, then i want to see him in Paris kicking the Arse.:p

I'd love to see him play at least a half. Come in as a sub for larsson. See the big 3 re-united!! What a treat this game should be. I think that all fans of football should be pretty happy with this matchup, and the subsequent game. :D

Well if he can get through a full training session, then it looks like he will play at some point in the final :D

Hope he can get on that pitch and play for atleast 30 mins... to me he's the key that'll unlock arsenal...especially since no one really expects him to play and arse wenger will probably be making his strategies to defend ronnie and eto. With all that in place, u unleash Messi on the right, and the Arse is cooked.:p :D

I think ashley cole could handle messi if he's not 100%, if he wasnt injured then id take that statement back.
