You think we'll get beaten 5-0 in the opening CL qualifying game? That probably would lower the co-efs...

Shouldn't the thread title read FAO Nelly :p?
IIRC, doesn't Celtic have to go into the 3rd QR if we win the CL? I thought I remembered some article about them rooting against us and Villarreal.

I dont know if that's the case but it would almost make me root for Arsenal.Almost.

Gotta be sensible and think of the Scottish co-efficient for the season after next when Paul le Guen's Gers have destroyed wee Chesney's ageing diddies and crap 'youngsters'........Gary Caldwell,Mark Wilson *PMSL* ;)

..in the semi final, only to be gubbed by Hearts in the Final. ;)

Yeah, with regards to Arsenal/Barca, Barca have to win for Celtic to get automatic qualification

GLASGOW, Scotland (AP) -Celtic could get an automatic berth in the group stage of next season's Champions League.

If FC Barcelona and AC Milan remain in the top two places in their respective leagues, and one of them wins the Champions League title, the Scottish team will qualify automatically.

Unlike the other two semifinalists, Arsenal and Villarreal, Spanish league leader Barcelona and second-place Serie A team Milan sit in automatic qualification positions for next year's group stage.

If they remain there and the winner of their semifinal series goes on to lift the Champions League trophy, an additional spot in the group stage would become available because the winner would then hold two automatic qualification spots, one for where it finishes in its league and a second reserved for the competition's defending champion.

The Scottish champion is next in line to gain automatic entry into the group stage. Celtic, which wrapped up its league title on Wednesday, hopes to avoid a two-leg qualifying round and a repeat of an embarrassing 5-0 loss this season to Artmedia Bratislava.

Although Celtic beat the Slovak team 4-0 in the second leg, it was knocked out and failed to reach the lucrative group stage.

Nae danger big man of us not gettin thro the qualifiers if need be(viva la barca), dont reckon cause ur mob got to the last 16 this year that its your co-efficient points that has gained the 2nd champions league spot, as its your qulification from the groups stages that you'll benefit from in season 07-08 when you finish 2nd in the spl yet again to the mighty tic. as asumming Vlad the impaler has sold up by then , and rangers have moved on to a decent manager other than a diddy of a frenchman ;) :D .

Previous succesfull frenchmen have not done too well in Glasgow b4 viva guivarch ;)
