i just read the news report that arsene wenger wants sven to pick walcott for the WC
wtf?!?!?!?!?
thats the most ridiculous suggestion that he's made, he's said stuff this season that i haven't agreed with but this is by far the worst
he hasn't even played walcott a single minute in the EPL and hasn't given him a single second in the first team and now he wants sven to take him to germany. i've heard this guy's pretty good but c'mon a few good performances for southampton doesn't make him maradona.
wenger says that walcott isn't ready for any pressure matches like the game against sunderland because he assumed that it would be tight. so the WC games are no pressure?
weird

if wenger really said that then he's getting a 'bit' crazy
i hope he starts bergkamp today and gives him a 89th minute farewell to bring in walcott
though i rather think it will be bergkamp only comming on in 80th or so :(

wenger said something like this about walcott: "if erikson got a problem in the WC than he can call me and i will tell him that i have got a great striker"

makes him sound less looney then :)

on soccernet, it sez wenger urges sven to take a big gamble and use walcott to replace rooney

So why has Wenger not taken a "big gamble" and played Walcott this season?
I read it and I was wondering, your bloody joking Wenger. However, guys think about it. The papers always take things out of context. Wenger has always said things I don't agree with but this doesn't seem right.

How about this if wenger starts him in the champions league final we should carry him. That wont happen so no this guy stays home. I know wenger dont really liek teh english but this is just blatant stupidity.

Oh gosh, I just read what wenger said, and it sounds like Wenger really just said that he wouldn't say no to letting Theo go to Germany. It isn't like Wenger is begging Sven to take him or anything.
There is no need to read way to far into Wenger's comments, he is basically saying is that he believes Walcott is a quality player.

Never gonna happen, there's 10 other young players that Sven would choose over him.

Wenger should play walcott in the champions league final to prove he's able to play alongside world class players

i reckon sven made a good choice.. walcott has the chance to prove his name.. and theres no way rooney will play so he should pull him out before the deadline before the first game. otherwise hes just a wasted place.. i dont think darren bent is confident or talented enough yet, and Defoe is good but never seems like a dead cert because hes not one..

plus he looks fast and we need a bit of pace.. thats why we always get lashed. cos our attackers cant keep up with african and south american defenders.. europeans aye.. rest of the world.. naa... and walcott is probably a safer choice than crouch..
