I like the logo. Very nice and it is a good thing they didnt choose Inter Toront. Just like how Real Salt Lake. Just sounds like they steal the name from other bigger clubs. More original names are better. But Toronto FC is fine with me. Should be interesting to see what kind of talent they come up with for next season.

I agree, the name is simple, as is the logo. Good stuff. I just might even start liking something about Toronto. :)

for once the safe choice is definitely the best one, kudos to MLSE for picking a choice which does not favour or alienate any ethnic group
let's just hope they can be more Toronto Rock than Toronto Maple Leafs (MLSE can produce a winner when they make an effort)
i cant wait for next summer

I'm loving that logo, simple and perfect. I'm surprised it's doesn't have blue in it though. The name is great to, would of been really stupid if they picked Inter Toronto... eeewwwww. Toronto F.C. is fine, but F.C. Toronto would sound better... mehhh it's all good.
This is one Toronto team i'll be proud to cheer on for, no matter the out come. I hate those loser leafs :p

I don't really care about the crowd, I go to the stadium to enjoy the game, no matter how many people showed up.

I was searching on http://www.worldstadiums.com/north_america/countries/canada/ontario.shtml to find what soccer stadiums do you have in Toronto. After FC Toronto start in MLS it will be really exciting season for you. But how does it look today??

No, I mean football season in Toronto.
The stadium, which will seat 20,000 fans, also will be a new major home of the Canadian National Teams.
If it is the truth you will be really lucky, watching Mondial qualifications in your city.
Edit. Thanx for the movie, now I know more even about new coach. I remember him playing during Italia90.

The Toronto Lynx (http://www.lynxsoccer.com) of the USL play in at Centennial Park Stadium in Toronto. There are a few pics here (http://www.lynxsoccer.com/photogal/lynxphoto.htm)

Centennial Park is built in 1975 and capacity is only 3500. Quite small. I would support Lady Lynx. Especially when I can see this number 10:) Canadian National Team star, Amanda Cicchini. I always play with 10. I hope She deserves :)

Good for you.
anybody else notice how many women wear Copa Mundial's??
I play in a co-ed rec league & a lot of the more skilled women (of which there are more than a few, believe me it's an eye opener getting deked out by a woman, it's happened to me a million times) wear them. I wonder why that is.

This seems weird, what do you mean by franchise? Find it hard to wrap my head around this.
Doesn't the US FA and the Canadian FA have problems with having teams in two different countries in the same league?

The precedent has already been sent numerous times. The NASL had many Canadian teams in a mostly American league. Currently, the USL (a division below the MLS) has 3 Canadian teams and about 9 American teams.
This also happens all over the world. A New Zealand team plays in the Australian A-League. A Liechtenstien team (Vaduz) plays in the Swiss leagues. A Welsh team (Cardiff) plays in England.
As long as both FAs agree, I don't see why there would be any problems.

Canada doesn't have the
1) Infrastructure (stadiums, appropriate administration and so on)
2) public interest (hockey being #1, no one wants to invest in football)
to have our own league

Tried twice, both failed.
I still have some ticket stubs from the 1st season of the CPL in 87 :)

look at CPSL and Lynx in USL now... they are dying, if not dead already.
couple of years after I moved to Canada I started missing football, so I went to the stadium to watch Lynx. I was patient enough to see about 5-7 games. Here is what scared me away:
- cheerleaders (wtf ?)
- every 5 minutes "Pizza-Pizza, buy a slice just for 3 bucks", the fucking guy was yelling so loud I couldn't hear myself talking.
- little kids at the stadium and their retarded parents
- not only they could never win at home, they played like shit
then about 2 years ago I decided to watch a CPSL game. I still go to the stadium every week to see North York Astros(I'll call them NYA from here) play. For some reason, even though CPSL is considered a lower league than USL, NYA being usually at the bottom of the table plays better football than Lynx. It is more entertaining, more organized, it's mostly young guys but it seems like they are more motivated to play, they are still doing it for fun while Lynx players and a coach don't seem to care that their team finished last every year as long as they get their paycheck. But lets get back to problems in CPSL.
- about 50 people attend the game
- the stadium has nice metal benches to sit on ;)
- the announcer is yelling in the microphone like a retard
- it costs 8$ (wtf ???)
CPSL and Lynx are only alive because they are plugged in into a life support machine and looks like MLS coming to Toronto next year is going to finally unplug them.

This is really frustraiting indeed. If I saw 50 people on the stadium I would probably never come back. They are the families I guess ?!
It reminds me some comedy - few supporters and drunk commentator. Toronto football society needs real football.

It looks like Jim Brennan will be on the team. There are also rumors that Patrice Bernier is homesick, and could be on the team.
These would be pretty decent national team-quality players for TFC to get if possible.

so I got the season tix email... pricing is interesting...
http://toronto.fc.mlsnet.com/pdf/t280/2006/seating_chart.pdf
looking at getting the red seating... 960 per seat/season... will wait till a representative tells me about club seating... can't see what would justify paying an extra 640 for...
man, those supporters seats are going to be crazy... I am predicting a lot of drunken partying is going to occur over on that side... :D
