You have to have Hleb and Eboue paired on the right side because they have worked so well together in the CL campaign. Whether it is Senderos or Campbell will depend on how they have looked in training this week I think. I like Flamini over Cole because I think Flamini offers more fluidity and possession control, even though (or because) he is not a traditional defender. I like Pires in there because of his experience and he seems to rise to his best for these kinds of games.

What has Campbell done well since his return??? He's been shit, looks a yard or two short of pace and if it wern't for Kolo would have been exposed badly by Man City and Wigan

I agree. Just ONE mistake by Phil and Barca may score. No doubt he has done it well in the CL but it's a bit of a risk when he has be injuried.

Cole has experience and I think it would be great with him starting.

You know arsene will start with freddie [if he's fully fit on the day] and pires will come on later !

It will be 4-1-4-1 with reyes and hleb on the flanks
freddie just doesn't cut it on the wing any more [keeps cutting inside all the time rather than stretching the defence on the outside]

arsene has all but said in interviews that sol will start.
senderos can't possibly be fully match fit.

That only leaves flamini or cole ?

ashley will get the nod because of experience and moreover he has the mobility required against a team like barca. A tricky player like aaron lennon really exposed flamini's shortcomings at lb in the spurs game.

If sol & flamini were together we'd have a serious pace problem on that side

If ashley runs out of steam, there is plenty of cover.

Cole is the best left back in the world and you guys want to start a marker in flamini who gives you no attacking thrust . Lennon showed everyone how to get passed his man marking one dimentional game. You dont think barca took notice and they have the personel. You guys hav eto look big piture in games against madrid , juve and villreal flamni did not attack and did not face one direct right sided player and he had help. Against madrid arsenal was able to survive by playing the diagonal ball quickly on teh counter with just 3 players reall attacking. That worked because real madrid doesnt mark anyone. Juve is aone dimentional attacking side vulnerable to pace and cant attack at full tempo. Barca will hav enon off these problems.
So you need to gamble.
guily an belletti on the right side flamini man marks players an get alot of support that will fail because guily cuts in an belliti flys past plus flamini cant take advantage on the counter attack.
If arsenal have a hope of winning this match they need cole who has played 3 games in one week basically with a week off in between, he must start.
I think he is ready. Cole is the best at shutting down 2 on one and he will get physical which will be an asset because in finals refs are not card happy.
Sol is the only gamble in my mind.I would gamble on him because on form he is great. His balance has been off and he has looked shaky but when you are such a huge under dog like arsenal is you have to take risks.
Senderous is steady but etoo will rip him to shreads.Senderous ha snot had any success against foward with any sort of technical ability how what you think etoo will do to him.
He isnt good enough he needs too much help and allows too much space behind him. He is stable but proof was there in the way how rooney just lit him up an exposed him for what he really is.
Sol has the expirence and is an arsenal talisman, you have to go with him. You guys are the under dawgs for a reason what the purpose of not taking a risk especially when you consider the reward.
Against barca you need to shut down the right side without help an with etoo you cant just collapse on him because ronaldinho will kill you.
You can only double one man.
flamini wont manage the barca right side and have you guys thought off what happens when ronaldinho drifts to that side. If ronaldinho see flamini he will turn him into a jogo bonito add.

Who do you trust to make a play against the worlds best flamini or cole. Plus cole has some revenge on his mind from 2002.

I Think arsenal can win an (i am a manU fan who hates arsenal) but too do that wenger 4 main decisions have to pan out.

2. Sol vs senderous
3. which one will be left out- pires,reyes or freddie lungburg
4. when do you bring on van persie.

I expect arsenal to play a narrow central midfield of helb, fabregas and gilberto. With reyes on the left and freddie on the right.
This isnt liverpool va milan get behind by more than a goal against this team you are dead.
