fully fit to walk? doubt we'll see him fully fit by game 1. would be great if he was.

he can keep his fitness up by riding that bike or going for a swim but its just the fracture. he can walk on it though but not without risking damaging it.

He has a scan this Thursday (25th) which will be the first real indication of how he's progressing. It won't be the definitive result, SGE is expected to request another one 14 days later before making the final decision, but if the scan on Thursday does not show significant improvement then Rooney is almost certainly out of the WC. If it does show progress then he's still only a possibility to take part.

But wouldn´t it be better to let him heal longer, if England win the first game and are doing well in the second then there´s no need to play him, save him for the KO phase, that´ll give him 2 extra weeks to recover.

The only down point is it´l be hard to become top goalscorer:)

I doubt he gets ready for the first game. He hasn't been playing at all since the Chelsea game. It's sad if they rush him. He needs time so he can get fit. Although there's a pressure on England they cannot play him yet. Maybe in the game against Trinidad & Tobago but not Paraguay. Paraguay is a much stronger side than Trinidad.

According with my own football news (http://www.zero-zero.info/items/info/Wayne+Rooney) aggregator England's team doctor is very optimistic.
Will be great news for England, but in the same time any football fan will enjoy watching Rooney playing in the World Cup.
