I guess you haven't watched the U21 European Championship... Kahlenberg was topscorer of the tournament with 3 goals, until Jan Klaas scored two in the final. and increased his tally to four.
Kahlenberg always scores a lot of goals, and even though he is rightfooted, he can also play on the left. Of course he is best in the hole behind two attackers, but when he was in Brøndby he played on the left, and was actually the teams topscorer with 14 goals in his last season for us. Yeah... we didn't have any good strikers that year.
His forces:
He can dribble
He can score
He can shoot (freekicks and place the ball from long distance)
He can cross
He can set up other players with beautiful passes.
I remember his debut for the Danish national team. It was in a game against Ukraine... He comes on and after 5 minutes he sets up our striker, with a look-away pass over 15 metres. Pure class.
However, he is also a bit weak at a few things:
He is not that strong, so he can easily be muscled out
Defending isn't his favoirte cup of tea.
Sometimes if feels like he would rather dribble the ball over the line, instead of just kick it.
yea nice cross!
And the dancemove away from Mönchen Gladbach's Bo Svensson...

i saw agger as goal scorer on one of those highlights, who else was on that team and what year was that?

It was 2004/05.
Yes, we had a quality team that year.
Daniel Agger and Per Nielsen (http://www.brondby.com/player.asp?sid=7&id=) rocked the defence.
Thomas Kahlenberg and Martin Retov (http://www.brondby.com/player.asp?sid=87&id=) ruled the midfield.
And finally Johan Elmander and Morten Skoubo was on fire in the other end.
Skoubo is now in Real Sociedad, Kahlenberg is in Auxerre and Johan Elmander will probably be sold this summer...
I don't mean to spoil the party, but being great at a U21 tournament doesn't say really much and in little compilations/highlight clips even Cisse looks like Ronaldo in his prime.
Hard to imagine that Bayern would spend big money on him, they've already paid 10m for a 20-year old and they're rather looking to strengthen their defence. They're extremely conservative in the transfer market, I'd be really surprised if he came to Munich. That being said, having lost Ballack and Ze Roberto Bayern could certainly use a talented offensive-minded midfielder.

Pardon me, but I have to laugh. Thomas Kahlenberg has proven his talents in the Danish league for years, and guess what happened when he moved to France? Yup... he rocked the party. 29 games, 8 goals and loads of assists. Can't find it on the net right now, but he is leading the assist list, if I'm not mistaken.
Here are some stats.
http://soccernet.espn.go.com/players/stats?id=26982&cc=3888
http://shsdemo.stats.com/fran/players.asp?player=24445
And besides, it's not sure that Kahlenberg wants to go to Münich. He is doing great in Auxerre and is very happy. Furthermore I don't think the German league would suit him. Maybe a bigger club in France or a good spanish or italian side, will be his next destination. But believe me, Sam. Thomas Kahlenberg will become big!
Being great in the Danish league is even more meaningless than being great in an U21 tournament :p
Furthermore, the site you provided says he has 0 assists.
And you seem to miss my point completely, I never said he's not good, I have said being good in an average league and then being ok in an average team in a better league isn't a proof that a player is great or has the potential to become great one day ;)
I'm sure he's a talented guy, but we're talking about a possible transfer to Bayern here, that's quite a different world than Auxerre ;)

Yes... obviously the sites that I have linked to, does not update the assists. But you are talking about a player that you know nothing of, and have probably never seen play. I, on the otherhand, have watced him close since he had his debut for Brøndby in 2002. I have seen him humuliate Ukrainian defenders in his debut for the national a team, I have seen him take the piss on various big name defenders, when he played a major part in Denmarks qualification to the U21 European Championship and I have seen him perform well (hell... sometimes even superb) in France.
Oh... and not to mention being topscorer for Brøndby, when we won the double last year. And that was as left wing! You can take the piss on the Danish league all you want, but I think his stats proves, that this is no ordinary player, or a one season wonder.
I'm very cautious about talents from Auxerre you know  :p

Why do you question Thomas Kahlenbergs abilities, and then refuse to take the discussion?
I don't mean to spoil the party, but being great at a U21 tournament doesn't say really much and in little compilations/highlight clips even Cisse looks like Ronaldo in his prime.
Because I have never mentioned his abilities apart from saying that he has talent. And you just seem to ignore that wee part of my posts. I have said what I had to say. Furthemore I do not intend to discuss anything with people who start their posts with "But you are talking about a player that you know nothing of".

With this sentence: "I don't mean to spoil the party, but being great at a U21 tournament doesn't say really much" you question either his abilities, or the statements that I have posted regarding him. Or am I wrong?
Perhaps it was a bit harsh to say, that you know nothing about him. You are right and I am sorry. But how much do you know of him? I felt you were undermining the value of my statements. Like I was just rambling on about some Danish player, like an agent that was trying to sell him. Because that was not the case. I gave him critique... most of it good, but I mentioned his weaker parts as well.

my how this thread has blown up. two things first bayern dont necessarily need a midfielder but could get one if the price is right. second, we do have other needs such as CB that is top priority. i just wanted to know more on this guy cause i've never heard of him and we keep on getting linked with him

Yes... he made the U21 European Championship Team of the Tournament.
Came into the competition having had the most assists in Ligue 1 in his first season with AJ Auxerre, and followed that with the impressive feat of being the only player here in Portugal to score in every game. The 23-year-old finished with three in three, his desire and energy having taken him into a position to round off Danish attacks from inside the penalty area. Nominally a right-sided midfielder, his power and pace make him a factotum in the Steven Gerrard mould.

I wonder if he is good enough to play for the mighty Bayern Münich
