Wow... what a game! What are you thoughts? Should you blame Sweden for not scoring on their chances or just acknowledge that T&T played their hearts out?

MOTM must be Shaka Hislop. Comes on as a reserve and has six major saves.

Worst player? Allbäck... you can't afford to miss such huge chances when you are in the world cup. Not good enough.

Soca Warriors!!!!! What a performance...definitely played with a lot of heart. I was at a bar watching it with some friends from Sweden that I play football with. What a result! Definitely got scared with some of the chances that Sweden got though.

Great game to watch. Just what the World Cup is all about. Its going to be a nerve-racking game for Sweden when they play Paraguay.Even a win means they could be needing at least a point from the England game and then it could come down to goal difference.

I think Paraguay have drawn their last 3 games against Scandanavian opposition in the build up to the w/c.

I blame number 20 and the coach for not starting Kim Källström and putting him on in 78th minutes. :-/ And Swedish supporters for being as loud as my grandmother when she's asleep.

Don't want to take anything away from T&T though, they played well and their goalkeeper had a match of his life probably, but if they played the real Sweden they wouldn't stand a chance, imo.

This has to be the best game I have seen so far. Okay there have been only 5 games yet, but I just saw Argentina against Ivory Coast and I was kind of dissapointed. Watching Sweden was really entertaining. I hope more of these games will follow.. yeah starting tomorrow with the Netherlands :p

You thought the Argentina game was boring??? Well i guess to each his own...Sweden was damn frustrating today. I couldn't believe the damn match when I was watching it. Ibrahamovic is beyond consoleable. His confidence is rock bottom and even Larsson and Llunjberg were a little disappointing. Hats off to Shaka and Leo though, both of them just earned blowjobs for a life time.

we sent the following letter some days ago to several swedish newspapers, the sweden football association and so on.

Open letter to all Sweden Nation Team supporters

Dear companions,

We are Spanish supporters of the Sweden National Team of football, as you, we are waiting and hoping that our beloved national team would do such a nice role this year. We have been watching all the matches the Swedish national team had been playing until today, the day when the FIFA World Cup starts. I know that maybe it is a little bit late, but we all have to think about some facts that happened that will definitely drive the path of our national team towards the World Cup.

The last fixtures we saw were somehow awful. But this is a problem we have been suffering for a long time. Even before than when we noticed that amongst the summoned players to face the World Cup challenge lacked names as Marcus Lantz, or even before we could not understand Lars Lagerback’s line-up.

Sweden has players in order to be amongst the best national teams in the world, but some of these players had not have enough chances in order to prove their worth, while some others are in the national team due to unknown reasons. The Sweden national team needs players as Marcus Lantz, Par Zetterberg (those two were pushed apart by non actual technical reasons), Pontus Farnerud, and so on. And what we do not need are players as Daniel Andersson or especially Tobias Linderoth, whose did not contribute to any kind of improvement.
We also want to point out that veteran players are also important to achieve victory, those players you know they will not fail, as it could be Johan Mjallby or Andreas Jakobson(even they do not play now due to several reasons) to mention only two names.

Some of the players we think Sweden needs (amongst others) have been excluded constantly from the National team not for technical decisions but other reasons; and Sweden deserves the best players, not the players that Mr. Lagerback prefers for other reasons, very unfair in the case of Marcus Lantz, who we judge he would be a keystone in Sweden’s line-up. Furthermore, some decisions made by the coach in the line-up cannot be understood, as to place Alexandersson as a lateral, when we have a lot of capable players to do this role.

In order to finish, we want to wish to the Sweden National Team our best wishes, but there are some things that need to be changed soon.

Yours sincerely,

I received some answers. what do you think about?
In conclusion, Lars Lagerback m*th*r f*ck*r !!!! He is going to ruin Swedish possibilities in this WC.

Some facts:
Andreas Jakobsson is out of the team because he has chosen to stay away himself, unfortunately.

Johan Mjällby has quit football completely because of injuries. So don't dream about him in the team.

Tobias Linderoth is a great player but only in a defensive line-up, he's more a fighter than a playmaker. He shouldn't have played yesterday, instead we should have had Elmander/Rosenberg from the start in a 4-3-3 line-up. Playing T&T we don't need the Lagerbäck Mantra "playing safe", we need quality attackers - and more luck.

Marcus Lantz and Pär Zetterberg should have had more chances to fit into the team, but that was 5 years ago. We need a stronger midfield that's for sure.

Lagerbäck is to blame for some of these faults but I don't want to start calling him names.

Letter to Swedish fans:

Remember when Switzerland (or should I say Martin Gerber) beat Canada 2-0 in the 2006 Ice Hockey Olympic tournament in Torino?

You guys just met against a goalkeeper on the day of his life. It would never happen again. The important thing is that Sweden created MANY MANY chances. The finishing will come.

Haha... many americans and canadians don't understand how big this is among people in Sweden and in other footballcrazy countries like Trinidad & Tobago.

Here's some possible frontpages of a swedish sportpaper, posted by themselves. They chose a little less negative one after some discussion as it's not over yet

Death in Dortmund, Zero-Zeroes, Arrgggh!, Noooo!

It's not enough that we won Olympic Gold in the other national sport of Sweden: icehockey.
People here are getting spoilt, you know. ;)

And what we do not need are players as Daniel Andersson or especially Tobias Linderoth, whose did not contribute to any kind of improvement.

Linderoth is a great guy who always perform, people may think he is bad couse he isnt really the most technical guy in the squad, so it normal that he dosnt show off...

if you gona blame some players blame alexandersson, did he even get a complete pass in this game ?

yeah, i know about mjallby and jakobson, but i referred as players as them. anyway if the wanted, they could play in our team without problems, they are more realiable than lucic, who is a lateral reconverted into a central. and i meant that zetterbeg and lantz deserved more chances to play. tell me why d.andersson or linderoth are in the team and not lantz? i know zetterberg is quite old (36) but I eventually prefer him than linderoth for instance:)
and well, do you understand our line-up? why's alexandersson there when there are: nilsson, c. andersson, ostlund and so many players more capable to play in this position.
but in my opinion, the very huge injustice is about Marcus Lantz, that's the point. and if you see the lantz Swedish games (trinidad y tobago, finland, etc.) it is easy to see we need a player like him !! yesterday Linderoth played as ever, with no ideas, only trying to send high balls into the penalty area (the vast majority of them went out)and never contributed to create chances of goal. more a hindrance than a useful player. i even prefer a midfield composed of: svensson-ljungerg-wilhelmsson-kallstrom.
alexandersson is a quite good player, but only when he plays in his position. it is not his fault, but lagerback's fault.

I didn't say it was boring, I did enjoy myself. I just expected more out of it.
