Did you already seen new Barca kits? It's probably older news but I found it out just today. Retro style is sometimes cool refresh, but I loved the current ones.
And the away kits, omg! They look like oranjes!! Fluorescent orange instead of yellow. I must say I'm not too happy about this change (although I love oranjes and their kits, I'm just not too keen on the stripes), I like our kits as they are / were :o Just that motto on the collar looks cool

Here are photos from Barca shop, I don't have time to find something better, if you have something, please post it.

The shitty thing is they will probably never go back to the stripped shirt.

Nike has done a study on sales and noticed that striped shirts don't sell as much as other shirts... hence the change... they believe that the two color shirt (i.e. 50/50) will sell more! I hate it when companies start to dictate club tradition

The orange away shirt looks 10000000000000000 time better than that florescent yellow last year imo!!

They do, I'll just have the feeling it's dutch squad on the pitch :p :D
And what silly study was that? When there were five tiny stripes it looked much more better, I wonder if people who buy them are so stupid or if it's Nike  :(

Its stupid Nike... you should see the Atletico shirt, it looks hidious!!

I bet you that Barca shirts sales will be up this year because they won the champs league & La Liga... they have the best players in the world (Ronaldinho) and the best future talent (Messi).

Then they will give credit to the change of design!!!

I always thought the stripes were part of Catalan culture/heritage, but then again when have Nike ever cared about anything other then money. Still it's nice to see they are continuing to refuse to have a sponsor on the shirt.

And you're right, the away kit is much better then last years, and the year before that!

duude DUUUUUDE the kits are great!

Everytime they wear the orange we can all think back to 1992 CL final and relish the moment. The away kit is almost exactly like the 92 season away kit.

The home kit is ok - but i prefer the stripes.

Speaking of club tradition, did you know that the way the Barca kit will be this season is the way it was when Barca first began playing? It's the same exact design of their original, first ever kit.

So yes, damn those corporate nike bastards for pissing on Barca's club traditions..

I must say I actually do like the away kit, but the home one has to be an insult when you change it up like that, especially considering the new Arsenal kit might look exactly the same but with black instead... (I am not trying to hijack the thread, not in the least, actually I am trying to say that Barca's should be different and they are doing them a disservice.)

I think I read it somewhere that Nike gave them more money for the shirt change which helped them not get a sponsor... ofcourse the fact that they just won the double and have some of the most watched footballers helped also :)

I still don't like how Nike is changing tradition after some marketing report

The Catalan stripes are of different colours than the shirts of Barca.

i like these new kits... the home kit is an homage to the centenniary kit (sort of) and is pretty sweet, although i would have preferred nice fat stripes. im glad they went back to the blue shorts, hated the red ones.

the orange kit is a direct homage to the 92 cl final winning shirts, as we just won the champions league i find them to be quite appropriate. i dont particularly like them that much, but hey i applaud the emotion they tried to create.

i personaly didnt like last season's home kit, hated the small stripes.. i thought they nailed the home kit's design and colours from 04/05

http://shop.fcbarcelona.com/product_images/large/118861-425.jpg

^^ those were beauties, and i was a big fan of the blue/black away kit that season too. the 05/06 away kit i hated so much at first, but began to get used to it.. while never really liking it.

one of my favorite barca away kits was this one:

Yeah I loved those away kits as well, they looked great, shame they are now gone :(

Anyway I like the orange ones more and more, they're crazy :D But still will miss the stripes  On the other hnad it's quite cool... shirts that I saw only on old posters, I've never seen Barca playing in them, it will be nice. But I'll get used to everything, just if they play like last two seasons :D

Same here, so please that the proper colour shorts are back... just looked wrong all of last season... although it did bring a European Cup back to the Camp Nou :D

The away strip is better than the fluorescent yellow, or that horrible beige affair of a few years back. I'm definitely going to invest in one, visca el barca!

$$$ talks :) ... so ofcourse you can. If you buy it from an online european store they should make it for you, i.e. they put the letters together at the shop.

I once ordered a Guti jersey and they guy told me that they don't have any dots for the "i" so I either wait or pick another jersey... I waited and got it as expected.

Who introdued the orange anyway? Was it because of Cruyff and the Dutch connection - now Rijkarrd and the strong ties to Dutch players and technical staff? Why is Valencia orange in their away kit too? They have no strong Dutch connection. Is it a Catalan thing?

What is Nike thinking! They're changing tradition (Not Barca's) Like Zico said, Atletico will have a similar design, 2 bands. For 103 years Atletico has always had the red and white striped shirt. Good thing adidas doesn't mess with Madrid's white home kit

I think I will be getting used to those oranje away kits and maybe I'll like them more than the yellow ones in a while, but still that orange colour makes me think a bit about men at work at a traffic situation, you know people wearing very visible clothes when they're out on the highway to do some work.

I guess the orange shirt will shock the home team so that they will let the highspeed Barca traffic trough. :D ;)

The more I look at the classy new home kit, the more I like it - and I plan to buy it later. :)

Valencia because they are known for their production of oranges throughout the world.

I do believe that the orange might have something to do with dutch influence on barcelona football - however as several have said I believe this is a direct throwback to 1992 and the champion's league win.

It's not just cruyff and frank (though johan has a lot of influence at the team) ... there have been many dutch superstars at barca ... and brazillians of course :). It's the one place we alllll get a long.

The city beaches are not far from the center, near the olympic village of 1992, but I prefer to go south a bit to the classy old fishing villages south of Barcelona with fantastic beaches and a very cool lifestyle.

The beautiful old part of Barcelona dating from medieval times is a must to see, and then there's the pulsating Las Ramblas with all that mediterranean ambience and history. I have been there many times but I always want to go back there somehow. Me gusta Catalunya.

IMO Madrid is too far from the sea but otherwise it's a great city.

Here's Plaça Reial in Barcelona, the king's square, a famous place near Las Ramblas.

Barcelona can be a big bad city in certain areas. The Las Ramblas area has been cleaned up since 1992 but there are still robberies, scams and pickpockets going on but I guess it's only a fraction of what it was like then. I wouldn't want to get too drunk in this area even now.

It's not only the football that is amazing - The Art and the Architecture in Barcelona is fantastic.
Here's a postcard I found with Google.

I got rip roaring drunk at this little irish pub right near placa catalunya, and had no problems at all, but I can totally imagine getting mugged in some of those out of the way side alleys.

The art is fantastic - Gaudi is an absolute genious.

The spires you see in that photo (postcard) are the spires of the sagrada familia cathedral - this place is absolutely amazing. You feel spiritual on another plane just because of the architecture when you're inside.

That's right. Sagrada Familia and the other works of Gaudí never cease to amaze me. It's beyond belief, like from a fairy tale or as you write like being on another spiritual plane.

Art and style are very important in Barcelona both in a clever way and in a traditional way.
The design of those Barca-shirts follow that tradition.

Speaking of mugging, the worst areas of Barcelona pre-1992 was down the harbour to the right side of Las Ramblas (facing the harbour). Now it's nothing compared to then when it was like a mad circus in that neighbourhood. But I was only a teenager back then and it was very interesting to check it out. I never had any problems myself but people I know had their money picked out of their pockets.

as you can see from those pics, all nike sponsored teams are going to be sporting the basic 'world cup' design for their kits this next season. if you look at these barca shirts you will see the sleeve hem, neckline and probably the material is identical to many of the kits that are being worn in the world cup.

This (http://sport.es/default.asp?idpublicacio_PK=44&idioma=CAS&idnoticia_PK=318226&idseccio_PK=803&h=) article says that it's not required to wear the logo in competitive matches, but that the idea of the club is to wear it as much as possible.

It's not a bad idea, but it just seems weird that the first logo would be this, considering that Barcelona could actually use the money from a paying sponsor. Hopefully they'll come to their senses and put the graphic on the sleeve like the TV3 logo.

I'm not sure how duty tax laws apply in the US bobkat but if you want to avoid it (in Canada its ~30%!!!!!! :o) order it from http://www.mmsports.com. Its still not available but pretty sure it will be in a month or so

Tell him to send it as a gift and he'll gladly put in an envolope that says its worth $10 or euro 10 (can't remember) and label it as gift.

The jersey with print usually cost US~$95... and it will be in your house within 5-7 business days... I collect jerseys so the place has been my supplier for 3 years and he hasn't failed me once... once he also sent me the wrong print and he gladly refunded my money (including shipping)... I just had to pay for shipping it back which was ~CDN $10... not bad considering most online stores tell you f! off

Thanks zico! seems like a good place with similar/competive prices to other places selling authentic jerseys.

I don't mean to rub it in but I just noticed that you live in Canada... I think you'll end up paying $150-160 by the time its done... they will collect duty fees at your door or at the postal office.

Can you keep us informed? Us North Americans have to help each other out in paying fair prices for authentic jerseys so I hope you keep us updated when you pick it up.

Don't worry my first Real Madrid jersey from the Real madrid website cost me $170 because CDN dollar was pretty weak back then!!!! We all learn by making mistakes :o

If anybody wants an avator for the forum of the new Barca kit, here's one I made from editing a set someone else (http://www.deviantart.com/view/33314893/) made. I think my Spurs one (<--) came out nicer, but you are more then welcome to use this:

I've never really been a fan of the half-and-half kit design, but I don't mind this one too much. I'm sure I'll get used to it...

Barca's away kits are always great, and this is no exception.

I had a go at the away shirt, came out pants to be honest, rushed it a bit. But again if you want it:

The orange one is good, but I prefer the yellow one from last season.

a dude on my team bought the new barca away kit.. after seeing it in person, i want it even more now :( dammit!

im going to have to shell out major coin for the home and away kits this year.. they are WAY too sexy for me to not have them. the gold lettering on the back of the home kits is such class.

I quite like the new Barca kit. The away kit suits barcelona a lot more than that bright green one.
