Im pretty sure River at the Monumental has about 65,000 capacity seats and its always full when I see the games.

Argentinesoccer.com rates the Monumental at 76,000, but the wikipedia rates it at 65,000 seats. Boca Juniors La Bonbonera is listed by Argentinesoccer.com as a 60,245 seater, while Wikipedia lists as 57,000 or so.

Both stadiums are always full.

Are you refererring to the % of fans overall?

If so, this might give you an idea ... the Boca fans webpage is called: www.lamitadmas1.com.ar ... which means half + 1 or 50% + 1. ;)

Both Boca and River have fans all over the country. For example, usually the first 2 rounds of the Sudamericana Cup are played in Salta ... and they fill the stadium. The other Bs As teams have much less following thru out the country.

In Bs As itself, Boca and River have the majority of the fans ... and in a much lower # you have fans of Independiente/Racing/San Lorenzo and even less Velez. Still, their stadiums are packed every time they play ... specially if the teams are doing good in the tournie.

Independiente is the third one in fans.
and, yes, boca jrs. has a lot of fans, but i think that the "mitad + 1" is a myth. and yes, independiente it's always full (i sometimes go there :) ) and velez too, but not always racing's and san lorenzo's

Thanks very much. That should cover it for now.:)

btw.......Vip - how ye getting on with those goalposts?:D

The reason I asked is because all things Argentinian are getting talked about on another site I visit.A Yourtube video was posted of River fans singing 'sos cagon' and it's gone down a storm.

There was a survey done on this not long ago, and the results were as follows:

40.4% - Boca
32.6% - River
5.5% - Independiente
4.2% - Racing
3.9% - San Lorenzo

This was for all of the country, but starting in the middle of the article, there's a more detailed breakdown. Basically, it says that Boca leads the poll in most areas of the country, except the northwest, where River has a slight advantage.

I know it's not related to this thread but i didn't want to start a new thread about some info i'm looking for.So can anyone post any views on Pautasso Martín Albano, the right back of Independiente?AEK Athens are probably signing him so if anyone has watched him playing,it would be good to tell me a few words about him. Thanks in advance.

he is quite fast, he always gets back to his position. his main problem is that he can't set good crosses. he is not cafu, he is not zannetti, but, he's quite decent

Ok thanks.I'm worried though for what you said about his crossing ability. Was he a regular starter in the team?

yes, but he didn't start in the middle of the season (as you may know, here in argentina, the season is split into 2 trournaments, he played the first half of the first one, and the second half of the second)
