Done and dusted (http://www.google.com/translate?u=http://www.as.com&langpair=es|en&hl=en&ie=UTF8), it seems Ruud did in fact file a transfer request with United. How that escaped public knowledge, I have no idea.

"The leaders of the United requested 18 million euros, but the Montenegrin [Mijatovic] delay to close today throughout the agreement by an amount that oscillates between the 12 and 14 million."

"In the United already they knew that Van Nistelrooy wanted to change of airs, fundamentally to its confrontation with Sir Alex due Ferguson. Everything was confirmed when the Dutch sent to the club the Transfer Request."

Capello says in the second article on AS: "Capello praised to Van Nistelrooy, of which nondoubt that will be successful in Madrid: 'Van Nistelrooy is a soccer player who has prevailed in all the sites in which she has played. It has put a pile of goals. He is a forward who can prevail in Madrid.'"

I haven't quite made a decision on whether or not I like this, yet. It seems to me Ol' Thick-Rimmed Glasses was just trying to bring in a big name signing, regardless of who it was, to make the fans think he was moving the club in the right direction.

cassano and robinho have future
raul is legendary
ronaldo is better then rvn

why is he going there?

bennmartin
15-07-2006, 12:10 PM
i think it is a good sign.

raul is D-O-N-E. the guy will always be a legend for real but look at the statistics and the world cup. he hasnt produced since 2002.

ronaldo is excellent when he is on the pitch. ummm...and he is fat. which means he gets injured which means he is rarely on the pitch.

cassano? did anybody even watch this guy for Madrid? he's a good guy but i watched games last year where this guy couldn't put the ball into the ocean from the beach.

robinho plays on the wing. not even an issue.

rvn can be a jerk. a jerk who has a habit of scoring goals. 21 of them last year.

for all that is said about real's shaky defense, nobody on thier team scored many goals last year.

have faith in the new man in charge.

In just more than Half a season. He could've scored against Wigan, NewCastle, Charlton etc too. Too bad he was not played and Henry got lucky. Maybe Fuckguson had money on him.`

Capello should know what he is doing. I wouldn't be surprised if Raul and Ronaldo are shown the door. There will be plenty of takers for those two anyway. What intrigues me is who will take over in midfield now?

So does anybody know if this is actually confirmed or not? I haven't found a confirmation of the transfer yet on bbc or skysports...

Also heard that theres now an unnamed 3rd club after ruud other than bayern and real.. any ideas?

Well that's a pretty lame reason @RVN being benched. We all know Ferguson had money on Henry due the odds were FOR Ruud to win, but then there was more money on Henry as he wasn't to win.

Mine is lame too. :)

this is such a stupid move for Madrid. Unless they get Horsebooy for free, it's a major waste of money and time. He is at the end of his career, has maybe 2 more seasons left in him(if he doesn't get injured. if he does, then he is done for good)
I had high expectations from Capello, but this just killed them all. I hope at least he comes to his senses and sells Ronaldo, Baptista and Woodgate to raise some cash for better signings.

Real fans, I wouldn't underestimate the combination of Becks and van Nistelrooy, it was proven deadly at United..

I second that completely if beckham plays a winger again.

16-07-2006, 06:35 AM
well, if this is going to happen, i think he'll do well at RMA. If he gets into the squad. I would hate to think that he'd be in the same situation as Crespo/Chelsea, where a top 5 world class finisher cant find the starting lineup.

If anyone finds the bench, its going to be Cassano, or Ronaldo. :o

DMprorR
20-07-2006, 11:58 PM
I really don't know what to say about this move. True that his combination with Becks would be very dangerous, but who are the players that would sit on the bench? Already if you take Emerson as a starter in the midfield (I was aginst this move, I hated it. I liked the Cannavaro move (sp?)).

Then I know Capello would play Becks as a winger so no worry. What role will Robinho play? Will he be put foward with Ronaldo or just being put in the midfield? I liked that he had the left spot of the field to himself, and now that Zizou is out, I think Robinho should be given that spot. If not then at least the freedom of movement that he has with Brasil if he is put as a striker, because he is not a one-dimensional player.

I have a feeling that Raul would be relegated to the role of a sub (Del Piero is a proof that Capello can do it ans will most likely do it). Otherwise he might be shown the door or choose to leave himself (yeah I know that Raul is legendary in our club, but at the same time these are the kind of players that hold down the youth. We appreciate everything he has done for us but man his time has passed. He needs to realise that before his work for the club becomes devalued).

We are in reconstruction phase. Defense is not looking shabby (we need to plan replacements for Carlos and Cannavaro ... Cincinho and Ramos are still ver young so they have alot to give), we have players that can play in the midfield (we just need to know how Capello wants to play them and who he intends to play ... I hope Baptista is not neglected). The striking option is now the problem we have. With all this talk on Van ... not knowing where Robinho stands ... Cassano not fit right now ... Raul not looking like himself (how many years are we Real fans gonna give him to come back to his peak I can't risk another Titleless season for him (gm?) ) ... and no news on the Ronaldo and where he fits into all of these situations.

I think towards the beginning of the season, we will get to know more about the team (also considering the pre-season) and the directions of Capello. We have a team to put Barca in their place this year and I believe we are going to do it. We have left the top of the table for too long and this is our time to regain our nobility. I am looking foward to a better Real Madrid even though I disagree on somethings that has been done recently. Hopefully Capello can bring some glitter back to fill the trophy cabinet this year.

Real's probable formation this year.

--------------Casillas-------------
Ramos-Woodgate-Cannavaro-Carlos
-------------Emerson-------------
Beckham----------------Robinho
-------------Baptista------------
-----------Ruud-Ronaldo---------

Bench: GK, Raul, Guti, Graveson, Helguera, Salgado, Cicinho

Not a Real fan, I've probably forgotten some players. But all in all, not too shabby.

ManU already rejected their offer.
Anyhow, Cicinho is just getting better and better I dont see Ramos playing at right back in front of him he'll stay a center back and woodgate on teh bench as he has not proven himself yet.

Van Nistleroy and Beckham a combination that saw Van Nistleroy score more than 1 goal per game ratio at Man U. If it wasn't capello managing madrid but del bosque what a score fest that would have been. Maybe fat ronaldo now will stop eating his soft drinks and play some football for his place in the team.

It will be interesting to see how Capello really deals with all the attacking players on his side and trying to give them the amount of match time to keep them all happy becasue with all those star players there are bound to be a few ego's to get into each other.

As for the transfer or 'potential' transfer I think he will be a hit for them, with the players they got that can supply proper service which is all that he need becasue he is a clinical finisher, especially has a good track record in the CL which is great for Real becasue in the past few they seem to lack scoring when they need it.

The 30-year-old scored 150 goals for United since joining in 2001 for a then British record fee of 19 million pounds ($35.39 million).

That's what he was bought for. Think it'll be more in the 10-12m region myself.

The third signing of the ‘Capello era’ is confirmed. Ruud Van Nistelrooy has signed with Real Madrid after five seasons of success with Manchester United and the Dutch national team. With hundreds of goals as proof of his striking ability, Van Nistelrooy will conform the best attacking line of European football next to Ronaldo and Raúl.

Done deal. But look at the date!

He lost his weight once he went to AC and had an impressive scoring record for them in the games he played for them in Serie a and I personally expect big things ( no pun intended) from him in this upcoming Serie a and Champions League campaigns.
