Hi All,
The Ligue 2 already started yesterday and Ligue 1 will do so on next Friday. Tomorrow there will be our version of the Charity Shield between Paris St Germain and Lyon.
Here is Lyon players list :
Goalkeepers : Riou, Vercoutre
Defenders : Berthod, Caçapa, Clerc, Müller, Réveillère, Squillaci
Midfields : Beynié, M.Diarra, Källström, Pedretti, Toulalan
Forwards : Ben Arfa, Benzema, Carew, Remy, Bettiol
New faces Squillaci (from Monaco), Källström (from Rennes) and Toulalan (from Nantes) will play their first game for Lyon. Youngster Ben Arfa had a feud with über-powerful club president Jean-Michel Aulas, but he hasn't been transferred.
Last year, for the same competition, Carew made a very big impression by scoring a hat-trick and Lyon won 4-1 against Auxerre. It did not prevent him to make a lousy season then. This year, Fred should be the man up front, and Carew a giant substitute.
Note that Coupet, Abidal, Cris, Tiago, Juninho, Malouda, Govou, Wiltord and Fred haven't resumed training yet as they participated in the World Cup.
Now for PSG :
Goalkeepers : Landreau, Alonzo
Defenders : B.Mendy, Sa.Traoré, Yepes, Armand, Dramé, Rozehnal, Paulo Cesar
Midfields : E.Cissé, Chantôme, Rothen, Baning, Hellebuyck
Forwards : Frau, Pancrate, Kalou, Ngog
Christian Rodriguez and new signing Diané are injured.
Dhorasoo and Pauleta are resting from the World cup.
M'Bami and Pichot should be transferred soon and are not in coach Guy Lacombe list.
This is the first season since 1990 where PSG is not owned by TV broadcaster and media mogul Canal +. From now on, the club and the supporters expect a little less pressure and a little less money for transfers.
PSG signed Mickael Landreau from Nantes, Sammy Traoré (central defender from Nice), defensive midfield Albert Banning, traded Landrin for Hellebuyck from Saint-Etienne and caught Pierre-Alain Frau (ex- Lens and Lyon player, started his carreer with Guy Lacombe in Sochaux).
The game will take place in Lyon's stade Gerland.
