Not a great news Story, but worth sharing anywhoo....

Now, let's hope more cable systems make FSC as easily-available as ESPN (who used to have that contract).

This is very good news. Unfortunately, GolTV has the monopoly on Spanish football.

oh really? i never knew they had La Liga games before. i doubt they will buy the rights to carry La Liga games as long as GolTV carries it. living with my two other housemates who are not very into La Liga action makes it difficult to get Dishnetwork

ESPN deportes (4 champions league games per matchday & Dutch footy)

I can get that AND Azteca America, Univision, and Galavison with my cable company. Just can't the Setenta because it's only on Directv here. Plus my bill is way cheaper :)
good post though ;)

The first match they showed was the Kansas City vs DC United (I think) on Saturday right? I watched that match to see local boys Scott Sealy and Avery John play but unfortunately Scott didn't get to start. Twas my first full MLS match. It's great that one of the US football channels have decided to show their own league...although it's just one per week it's still a step in the right direction.

Since when does Directv have ESPN Deportes? Up until b4 the WC it was an exclusive of Dishnetwork.
Are you sure? My PC internet connection is super slow atm ... if not I would double check myself.
Also ... add to Directv the T&C Sports channel from Argentina ... there they show almost every game of the league except for the "clasico del Domingo" that is shown of Fox Sports Espanol and FSC.
If ESPN Deportes is also available in Directv, I'll dump my cable co. and get it this weekend. :D
