inter trollers...please...constructive input only
my best possible starting lineup is:
--------------------------------toldo--------------------------------------
--Zanetti (c)----------Cordoba--------"the wall"------------------Grosso---
------------------------Vieira----------Cambiasso--------------------------
----Figo--------------------------------------------------------Stankovic--
----------------------Zlatan-----------Adriano-----------------------------
i think that is a pretty competitve lineup and i think that the additions of grosso, vieira and zlatan really strenghten our weaknesses last season, especially grosso since i think our left backs (favalli and wome) were really too weak....vieira will give us a more combatitive edge in the middle and zlatan is definitely better than martins/cruz/recoba....
we will also have a good backup team which i think should be:
---------------------------------J.Cesar----------------------------------
--Maicon (pretty good)------Burdisso----Matrix-------------------Maxwell--
-----------------------Dacourt----------Pizarro---------------------------
--Solari----------------------------------------------------------Recoba--
---------------------Crespo-------------Martins/Cruz----------------------
i think that this is a very strong second team that can DEFINITELY cruise through the coppa italia...
i know the Inter is the team the critics love to hate but you have to admit that Inter looks pretty strong and very competitive this year...
hopefully, since we managed the double last year :D , we can at least aim for the treble this year :p

yeah, they've got very strong team now, but still I don't believe they're going to win the scudetto next season. ;)
Crespo should start with Zlatan/Adriano!

I have seen some of Inter games last year. Figo is getting up in age and from what I saw of very limited of the games, I think Inter is one creative midfielder away. The difference between this year's Inter team to Milan's last year team (sheva isn't there and makes a huge difference) is Kaka.
Like I said, I haven't seen many of their games, but let me know what you think Labfm1.

i'm not going out on a limb and saying we are going to win..
but i think that we are definitely a LOT MORE competitive than last season, and we didnt play bad last season either....
figo is old, but he played really well last year and that suprised a lot of people..
i reckon this is his last 'good' season, after which he will be used as a sub or will transfer back to portugal like rui costa...
and to matidbr....if it was up to juventini, inter will NEVER WIN a scudetto, no matter what team we have cause you just hate inter...so i really dont expect any positive, meaningful responses from you or from other juve fans :p

Hey, it wasn't a negative response. :p I just said I can't imagine them winning maybe becasue they didnt win it for so many years (no ofense).
As I said they've got strong team, much much stronger than last season ( just look at the names) and I am not wishing them bad, if they will be the best then let them win the scudetto! I don't have personal problems with it!
Peace. :)

Labfm1 are you sure your an Inter fan? ;)
IMO, this is most likely what Mancini will start:
-------------------------------J.Cesar------------------------------------
--Zanetti--------------Cordoba--------Materazzi--------------Grosso------
------------------------Vieira----------Cambiasso-------------------------
----------Figo--------------------------------------Solari?----------------
---------------------Zlatan-----------------------------------------------
-----------------------------Crespo---------------------------------------
1. I'm not sure of Cordoba, he should start Burdisso but knowing Mancini Cordoba will get the start.
2. Solari on the left side is wishfull thinking. If Mancini has half a brain he will start him.
3. Crespo's finishing position is obviously not 100%.... But you can bet your shorts Ibra will be there.
Who I would start:
---------------------------------Toldo------------------------------------
--Zanetti-------------Burdisso---------Materazzi--------------Grosso------
------------------------Vieira----------Cambiasso-------------------------
----------Recoba--------------------------------------Solari--------------
---------------------Zlatan-----------------------------------------------
-----------------------------Crespo---------------------------------------

i am sure i am an inter fan but you definitely proved that you are not :D
solari has NEVER been a starting player for inter....NEVER!
he is a reserve player...if you watched even only 1/4 of the Inter games, you will see that figo plays right and stankovic plays left...
cordoba has to start....the guy has saved inter on numerous occasions due to his intensity and passion....he is also very quick and thus difficult to get past...
recoba cannot start in front of figo for many reasons, one of which is his conditioning....figo even at his old age is better conditioned than recoba and can play full games AT TH TEMPO mancini wants....mancini wants his wingers to attack as well as track back....recoba certainly never tracks back..
the foward line is up in the air and should be based on performance...i think zlatan should start because he is just great....whoever esle starts i really dont care, once goals are being scored...

after burdisso's showing in the WC, i dont see him not starting. He played great. You have to wonder who's going to be the 'utility player' this season, the star they substitute on when they want to bring another star off, but dont want to loose offensive presence. I'm guessing Figo will share some games, but start the majority, I personally think its going to be Stankovich. I dont know...I havent watched alot of inter recently(and i dont want to pretend i'm an expert here lol), because last season was just plain frusterateing.

I hate Inter, but I love Calcio. ;)
Solari is a left winger... believe it or not one of the best in the game. He has played a total 2 games for Inter which he started and scored 3 goals which won them both. He fits perfectly into their game plan and thats why they have him, why they dont start him is another story.
Stankovich plays the left in a completely different way. If they keep Martin and he actually gets pitch time then I would start Stankovich behind him, if not he should be second to Solari.
Burdisso is twice the footballer Cordoba is... Not to mention younger.
The right is up in the air.... Figo is a question mark, now that the WC is over and so is his career (IMO this is his last season, maybe one more) how much steam does he have left??? I agree Recoba is not currently the ideal due to 2 things; 1. Hes a striker. 2. Conditionning. The truth is that hes been on the bench for 2 years, why would he be in shape? However if Mancini was any good (which he is not) he could easily shape into a winger with stamina. Track back you say? I agree, never. But thats why Viera and Cambiasso are there.
Strikers... Inter is a fucken mess to say the least...
BUT The idea I see is with Zlatan they can have a poacher ie: Crespo and/or Adriano can play his game. Quite brilliant honestly.
However it does not solve the 6 striker situation.... :p

That team of yours look great (on paper)
Good luck to Inter in all their games this season so that they can win the Scudetto the proper way.
And of course I'll cheer for Inter when they play AC Milan or Lazio.
I also hope Inter will have a good international run - at least until they meet Arsenal or Barca. ;)
Inter better show some real class. I expect them to dominate Serie A 2006/2007.
But Juve will be back soon.

Looks like our starting formation will be the one we played in the Super Cup with the possible addition of Julio Cesar or Cordoba (otherwise we will have one of the dirtiest Def C pairing around!).
Personally I think we need another midfielder to complete the team. I wanted us to sign a creative midfield playmaker to replace Veron (prefferably Riquelme) but now we signed Vieira. A good signing but I think we'll have to change our tactics a bit getting more creativity from the wings, and with both Cambiasso and Vieira in midfield we could get a playmaking type of midfielder, drifting inside behind the 2 strikers in a free role (right- or left-sided player wouldnt matter that much as both Stankovic or Figo can play on both sides).
In a perfect world Im thinking Kaka, Ronaldinho or Messi - In the real world Im thinking van der Vaart, Reyes, Sneijder or Luque (long-term, Anderson would nice). For width, our FB's are all v good at pushing forward and both Zlatan and Adriano can drift out to receive the ball.
Mancini usually likes to switch his formations around depending on the opposition and this would give us flexibility as Stankovic can be moved to the centre instead of a def MID, giving room for an additional winger (Figo).
Or we could just stick to the current approach and get another winger (Mancini, Vicente, Wright-Phillips etc)
Zlatan will bring creativity but I want us to play as a team and not rely opon our strikers to create something on their own as we sometimes revert to.
