Trofeo Birra Moretti "SPOILERS"

Hi you all!

Juve conquered the Birra Moretti trophy yesterday when they won Inter (1-0, Zalayeta) and then beat Napoli in the final after a penalty shoot-out which saw Chiumiento become the scorer. He slotted home a really nice penalty, he kept his cool and made it look really easy.

i would laugh...

however and unfortunately, the trofeo birra is a totally insignificant and meaningless trophy...it is meant to be a set of friendlies to help teams prepare for serie A (no malice intended)

i am actually suprised that you juve fans are gloating over this....

The "trophy" doesn't mean a s*ht, but if I was supporting a Serie A team, it would be just awful to see them loose to a Serie B team even in a preseason match ;)

Regardless of the trophy, it's still kind of sad to see Juve's B\C team beat Inter's almost A team: 1 Toldo; 13 Maicon, 2 Cordoba, 6 Samuel, 4 Zanetti; 19 Cambiasso, 8 Pizarro, 5 Stankovic; 10 Adriano, 9 Cruz, 30 Martins.

You also had your 3 star forwards (Ibra who?)

juve's defence is missing three starters from last year , canna, thuram and zambrotta and they're missing emerson and viera in midfield .. also the 3 WC stars werent playing (DP, buffon and camo) ... yet the juve defence was still the best as they didnt concede a goal and the inter offence was the worst as they didnt score a single goal :) ... even napoli's offence was better cuz they scored on inter ... so heres how i see it;

juve -> best defence and offense

napoli -> second best on both ends

inter -> worst defence and offense (against 2 serie B teams)


no matter how insignificant a trophy might be , the above stats have gotta hurt the inter fans

to be really honest, i was not even concerned about this, as i was not concerned about the games against tottenham, monaco or watford..

it is called pre-season friendlies for a reason....

jus as chelsea lost to the mls all star team, this means NOTHING!

i remember last year, this same time, when inter kicked juve's ass in the pre-season tim trophy and then kicked your ass again in the Italian Super Cup...

i remember coming right on this same forum only to be derided by juventini claiming that it was only pre-season....
