View Full Version : The A-League Thread
Well, this might inspire some more posts in this forum as no one really posts after every match, so maybe we could just post in this thread.
Perth v Melbourne is on at the moment, go the Glory!
I like this thread already.... Game was over like 15 mins ago with Victory winning their 6th straight league game and 5th of the season to stay four points clear on top of the league. Kevin Muscat and that other dude, forgot his name, scored.
I honestly think that we will win the league and Asians Champions league here we come. Perth were pretty vocal but shit I hope it really picks up for them because they could have been a good team with great prospects for the league when you consider the bench mark they set in the old NSL.
Well played Victory, they deserved to win. Perth has gone down the tubes as of late, it's really quite depressing.
One day they'll be back - but honestly, I don't see that happening for quite some time.

Qld are going better than I expected. They had a pre-season game against a selected Bribane Men's Division team and only managed at 3-1 win. However the starting lineup was completely changed at half time.
Matty McKay and Murdocca are playing well, but Reinaldo seems to be struggling with finding feet or the net. Melbourne's on fire also. Some good players coming through, just hoping we don't continue to make A-League a transfer fest and leave out the up-and-comers

It will happen coz everyone wants to win. To win you need to field the best players in your squad.
Though if the season was longer and squad size bigger it would be easier. But due to a sort season squad rotation doesnt happen enough to give the fringe players a chance to stake a claim and impress.

I think the season needs to be extended though it will probably not happen until more teams join the competition. Melbourne Victory just won their sixth striaght game in defeating Qld Roar 4 - 1 at TD. What does everyone reckon bout Victory? Are they the real deal and top of the table material or are they playing above themselves atm and will stumble and struggle to make the top 4?
