I've been really busy lately, so I don't have the time to write up the whole weekend, but basically goes like this.

Sydney played the worst game I have ever seen in any league ever to scrape an undeserved 1-0 win with a goal from captain Mark Rudan against New Zealand in Aukland. Long ball, long ball, long ball... zzz.

Queensland Roar and Adelaide United went head to head in Brisbane in what was built up as a cracker of a match. Roar dominated, but unfortunately the full 90 ended with a 0-0 draw. Qu sent off for a headbutt and has since been cited by the FFA for

Central Coast Mariners broke their goal drought early against Newcastle Jets and then petered out. Newcastle went down to 9 men and still looked like a danger to snatch the match with a late equaliser and many more chances coming and going. 1-1 final score. Okon and Griffiths with red cards, Griffiths (jets) and Hutchinson (mariners) shared the goals.

Perth completely dominated Melbourne Victory in the first half of their showdown in perth. They went to the dressingrooms at halftime with a 0-0 scoreline but the glory looking like they would eventually take out the match. Victory rallied in the second, and Caceres scored against his old club. Not long after, a handball in the penalty area gave Kevin Muscat a chance to put himself ontop of the goalscorers sheet. In the final minute of injury time, Glory's Tarka scored a nice header from a corner to finish the game at 2-1.

Goal of the week: Caceres
Match of the week: Central Coast Vs. Newcastle

Coming up this weekend and tips:
New Zealand host Central Coast.
Both sides hungry for goals and a win, but will most likely end in a draw.

Newcastle Vs. Perth.
Newcastle are missing Okon and Griffiths, who are really irreplaceable. I think Perth will come away with a narrow win.

Melbourne Vs. Queensland.
This will be a nice match, it's 1st Vs. 2nd. I think it will be a passionate match, but the Victory Home record is much better than the Roar Away record. Will be a relatively high scoring game with not much seperating the two teams in terms of scoreline, but Melbourne will come away with the win in front of more than 35,000 people at Victory's new home, The Telstra Dome.

Adelaide Vs. Sydney.
If Sydney play like they did last week against New Zealand, Adelaide will beat them by 4-0. If they play a little better, Adelaide will beat them 2-1. Even without Qu.
