La Liga vs English Premiership [Archive]

Do you think the pace of the spanish game is that much slower than that of the english one? I was watching Athletico Madrid vs Real Madrid and the game seemed fairly fast paced to me. Too many fouls and overracting but other than that, class stuff. I don't get the opportunity to watch the lesser clubs play vs each other that often, but do you guys think there's a big difference?

I dont know why people always refer to the pace of the EPL being so much faster. IMHO, the major differences are in the way they tackle. La Liga seems to be a much more free flowing game whereas in the EPL they tackle hard and stop you from going any further. The pace of the madrid derby was nice but the many fouls, especially on Guti, were due to it being a big derby.

la liga is diffinately the toughest and best league in the world..
more free flowing...but alot of ppl fake fouls...

I, for one, likes slower pace games. A week back, I downloaded the Liverpool vs United match. After watching it for a while, I kind of felt the pace is very fast but not as technical as the Serie A and La Liga. I guess whatever floats your boat, if you like EPL then watch EPL, if you like La Liga or Serie A, then watch those. In the end of the day, they're all good leagues IMO, depends what you're looking for.

La Liga is more technical... EPL is more physical.

Nothing comes close to EPL TV production... its head and shoulders above all the other leagues... imagine La Liga with that kind of production!! Wow, that would be heaven :)

this man speaks truth.
I do not know why there is always a broad general sweeping of the leagues. I hardly ever watch the EPL but I am sure that there are some boring slow paced games, just as in La liga there are some thrilling all out blistering paced games.

I do not want to be rude, but I notice it is always someone who watches the EPL mostly that brings up these kind of threads. And then someone like Silas will come in and just type a quick EPL even tho it has nothing to do of what was asked and then we will have a versus thread in no time.

With that said I do believe it is the media that even implants these ideas in you guys head. Somehow it manages to make the EPL "THE" league to watch and when you do drift over to just catch a peek at another league you are wonderfully suprised no?

We've had this thread before. Long story short, most people said what Zico said and most people voted that they liked La Liga better. I was surprised. Especially since we have a large amount of EPL coverage here.

I prefer watching EPL rather than La Liga though I'm not from England...
And maybe yes... EPL is more physical but there are also players like C.Ronaldo, Lua Lua, Robben, Drogba of course ;) and so on...
But the toughest is Italian Serie A Imo...and the best is Latvijas Virsliga of course :D
