does anyone know how the appeal is going and if ronaldo will be able to play in the el clasico, i haven't managed to find any news on this matter... its really buggin me
RM will appeal the 1st yellow card claiming it was harsh which I agree.
Having said that, it was given and it should stand... I really want him to play the El Classico but it will really show the corruption of La Liga... Barca & Real always manage to overturn cards for their key players in key games!
But then again that is La liga

I haven't watch the Getafe game yet but is Ronaldo match fit enough to play the El Clasico (even if the card does get appealed)?

They played so badly that you couldn't tell if the strikers where in shape or not... it looked like most of the time the ball was lost at midfield.
I think he's good to play at least 45 minutes... perhaps 60-70 minutes!!

Oh C'mon!! It's the great Classico! Show a little corruption in this situation for the good of the sport :p . Everybody knows the world wants to see Ronaldo in there. Imagine it was Ronaldinho with the 2 yellows  I can't imagine that would stand.
And plus, the cards were definitely harsh. The 1st one was just stupid and the second one is because Ronaldo supposedly told the ref he's a "Fenomeno". I think that's bit harsh as well but I can live with that one.
The appeal has been rejected... No Ronaldo in El classico
Good news for La Liga though... some kind of fareness for the other teams. Don't get me wrong, I really wanted him to play because he's an amazing player imo... but if this was Diego Milito for Zaragoza, Forlan for Villareal then they would be banned so its only fair.
I hope this motivates RM to turn things around though... I doubt it, I've been saying this for 3 years and it looks a like 4th consecutive is coming :( When is this ever going to end? It seems like eternity

Video of what Ronaldo said to get the card in spanish: http://www.cuatro.com/multimedia/video.html?view=alta&xref=20061016ctoultnot_15.Ves
"Minutes before Ronaldo has already argued a call with Gonzalez Vasquez (ref). The striker never imagined that a yellow card to Van Nistelroy would provoke what ended up happening."
Ronaldo's words:
(Walks up to ref) You gave him a card for speaking to you or what?
So nobody can talk to you eh.
So you're a phenomenon then (fenomeno).
(Ref gives 2nd yellow ) Incredible.

i dont think this particularly hurts madrid that much...
ruud, robinho (if he gets to play) and the rest can cause enough problems.
good luck to both sides... ;)

i think it was a pretty soft yellow card but i don't think it will matter that much. real is stacked up front with rvn in form at the moment and capello is going to try and keep this one a defensive battle.

The ref knew Ronaldo was already on a weak yellow card from earlier. He should of talked to Ronaldo. Tell him to shut up cuz he has el classico next week and he doesnt want to miss it. But he sent him off so quickly knowing all this. I dont think the ban should be lifted but the ref should of used a little more common sense.

Do I smell a conspiracy? hahaha....doens't matter anyways. Real has plenty of fire power without Ronaldo, not that we don't need him. Don't get me wrong, he is El Fenomeno.
