who would you choose in starting line up, ronaldo has recently spoken out about capello, cassano has, beckham looks to go...
somehow i'm feeling its a matter of time before all hell breaks loose, sure madrid is near the top (as always...), and recently beat barca but i can't shake the doubts. Anyone else disagree with capello's formation and coaching style?

We have to atleast try once, have both of them start together, we need more variety.
At least Ronaldo and Becks isn't cursing Capello like Cassano did. It's funny how I don't hear as much complaining about being a benchwarmer from other big teams. Capello also wanted to start Ronaldo on the CL match but Ronaldo wasn't fit until moments prior to the match so he called in Ruud, I think he will get his chance pretty soon. As to Becks, god knows when Capello is going to start him. As for the vote, it's a hard call because Ruud is in form while Ronaldo, don't think he is match fit yet and will probably need a few games to his belt, so for now, I go for Ruud.

Ruud all the way. Ronaldo still needs to warm the bench. Capello wants him to be starving to play, then we'll see if he's still got it or not.
Becks on the other hand should be given more time. He is not a lazy player, and I think he needs more minutes to find his form.

RvN is playing way too well to bench him right now. I dont see how they are going to work together but you never know. Maybe they could become a deadly combination. I'd like to see Raul riding the pine a little bit more though. If you start him, take him off at the half if he pulls his amazing disappearing act.
Beckham definately needs to be back in the starting 11 though. When he came on against Steaua, the team came to life again. Diarra is playing well and I think he can defend the midfield w/o Emerson.
IMO benching Raul for a few games may be a good idea for the likes of Ronaldo and Becks, it'll free up a spot in the starting 11 and it can remedy the hunger of bench. Besides, what Raul has to offer anyways? He disappears most of the game and all he does is to close down on anyone that has the ball. I do appreciate his workrate but as a forward if you go too deep to backtrack, you also cost the team some great opportunities to go forward.

I think Capello should at least try Ruud and Ronaldo together to see how they do before making a choice. maybe they will turn out to be a deadly striking combo, you never know..

What a idiot! Real plays with only one striker, Ruud!

are you kidding me Raul is whats kept us alive in the title race his goals against Atletico, Barcelona have been very important, Ruud has so far choked in the big matches. His presence alone means everything to the team hes their leader. He dribbles the ball and passes better than Ruud hes doing everything he can to lead this team going from the mid to the front Ruud stands in front of goal waiting for the pass where as Raul takes the ball to goal. If anything Ruud is the one who should be rotated for Ronaldo and Reyes for Guti.

And you think one striker is going to score us enough goals for the entire season?
Well I opened up a post a while back about Raul should be benched and a lot of people agreed with it, I'm think some people still agrees with me as he usually gets a good game then a few bad games here and there. I don't deny the fact that his current form looks great, scores the important goals for us but he does seem to disappear most of the game other than those goals, I guess goals are what counts.

Well said Rev. Its just too much of a gamble to see which Raul shows up, the one that disappears all match and scores a goal for us or the Raul that just disappears and does nothing. There's too much quality on the bench from the likes of Robinho, Reyes, and Ronaldo to keep putting so much faith in Raul. I'd like to see a strike partnership with RvN and Ronaldo just to see how it works.

Real should play 4-4-2 and raul should partner ruud on a current form. Even if they want to play one upfront, ruud should start, he is the best they got. And capello was an idiot for not starting him against celta. Real have 6 strikers and they cant find a partner for ruud.
My violent side also tells me to shot guti dead. He dont know how to play football.
I would play both.
The 15 minutes they played together vs Celta was the most dangerous 15 minutes for Real... as soon as Ronaldo was taken out... nothing happened!!!
This one striker idea is good if you are on the road against teams like Barca, Depor, Valencia, etc.. where you know getting a point is a good result!

Well said. I think having both playing is the best thing that can happen to our team. We need twice the efficiency in front of goal now and we need it desperately.

Worked nicely, they should play, and probably will.

we cant afford to have both of them on the pitch on the same time, both are lazy and only usefull if they can score.

we'll be lucky to penetrate any defense by himself.

to me, real is as inconsistant and frustrating to watch this year as they have been the past 2 and a half seasons. you can see patches of brilliance but never a real flow throughout the game.
i think capello has plenty of options and he should start using them a little more. so yeah, there are games where he should try ruud and ronaldo together. raul has actually been playing well of late, so there are games where he should play and one of the other two should sit. additionally, capello has got a loaded midfield and he should explore some different options depending on the team they are stacked up against.
im not saying he goes "benitez" on the team and changes the line-up every game but both man u and chelsea have been successful at rotating people on the team in order to mix up their tactics. if becks, ronaldo, reyes, and robinho are getting good runs from time to time in the starting 11, they will be still be happy. raul, emerson and diarra need to have a sit once in awhile. though they have been acceptable at times, i don't understand why they are so untouchable.

I'm sorry but that guy is right..he disappeared most of the time..the other day when we were watching CL game in barnebeu against steau on TV..I told my friend that raul is doing nothing and should be benched...he said, "raul is not playing today right?.."..that's after about 35 minutes of play..imagine that..after 35 minutes..my friend still didn't know whether he played or not..
I've been real madrid supporter since 2001..and I think..if real madrid wants to change their fortune..they must bench Mr. Raul...I know he means so much to Real Madrid's Spanish(or madridistas) fans..but we need to do what we need to do...getting one or two goals once in a while doesn't change the fact that he is not good enough to be in the team...in term of leading his team...err..I think no player respect him that much..you can see from the divisions in the team the past two or three years..it's different if zidane or figo was the team captain the past years..all players respect them
The real test for Ruud & Ronnie combination is tonight.
If they can't bag 3 goals (the team, not necessarily either) then I don't think it will ever work!!! This is obviously considering the oponent & stadium which are both in RM's favor.

Bare minimum of 3 goals, anything less is a major disappointment. I'd like to see 4-5 goals though.

3-0 with 15 minutes to go. Couldn't get a proper connection for this one :o
Becks and Ronaldo for the first two... and Ruud on a pen.

Spoilers
Ruud gets his second 4-1. :D
Ruben de la Red makes it 5-1. :D
They got the 3 goals that I demanded :) but not sure about the performance!!! The two of them looked brilliant for maybe 2-3 plays... maybe it has to do with the quality of service they had!!
Not impressed with the performance at all today... could've easily lost it until the 3rd goal!!!

I don't wanna answer, lol. The truth is Real just bought Ruud and he's playing well. He's going to stay and that's that. Raul would disappear less if Capello didn't have him going so far back. Just let Raul play like Raul and he can be great again.
The truth is Ronaldo is likely to go. And I think I'd prefer that. He's not in shape and until he's willing to get himself fit (Not talking injuries here) he should be coming off the bench.
I would like to see Becks back in though. Emerson had a great game earlier in the year but after watching that Barca game I don't know how he could be guaranteed a spot game after game. It's not like he's been at Real since before yesterday. He should have had three yellow cards in that first half, got away with one, and faked his way out of another. Have Diarra with Becks in the right midfield (Unless they're gonna try him as a DM). I'd position him inside and have him overlap to the outside. Guti plays a lot of D anyway and Robinho has been playing a whole lot, so that's what I'd do.
