Things might seem better than we expected for Samu, according to a recent article in El Mundo Deportivo.com, he cold be scheduled to be playing competitively as soon as January. Samu recently went back to Mallorca where he will continue his recovery and will start his physical therapy with a ball in two and a half weeks time.

Eto'o speaks:

"We have started to do work (with the knee) and everything is going well," he told Catalan RAC-1.

"The doctor has told me that the knee is responding very well.

"I have to take it cautiously, but I am making progress.

"I must keep working calmly and listen to what my knee is saying at all times. At the moment it is telling me that things are progressing.

"I hope that I will be able to return before the five months.

"I don't feel much pain anymore, but the problem is that I have lost muscle mass and I have to recover that."

Barca needs him back. Gudjohnsen wasn't getting the job done. And they took out Saviola pretty early in the last match IMO.

Actually he played the entire match during our last match versus Badalona.

Even if he returns, he is not going to get his form back right away, it'll take a while, and a return on January? I hope he doesn't rushes things too quickly or he'll pull a Owen WC06.

Big loss for Barca. But as my father always says: Everything has it's bright sides. Now atleast Gudjohnsen can play too and Saviola will get his chance.
