Anybody give a fuck?
Not very popular in Denmark and we're sort of boycotting it, after last years disgrace. Tromsø used an illegal player and lost their game 0-3. FC København used an illegal player and got a 50,000 DKK fine
But... since we've been so shite, it's sort of our only hope to get some success :o Played our first game last Thursday against Hammarby. So shite in the first half, but turned it around in the second half.
Won the game 3-2  Our first away win since April!!!

That is what I wonder. Is it a big deal? It is a nice idea and all - but this is such a recent thing, you cannot make it into a grandiose event in a couple of years.
Oh Bruun, you give us the pulse of the people. What really matters. You are the people's champ ©.

It's a very little deal. The clubs don't take is serious and piss right in the organizers faces. Especially the northern clubs takes the piss, when they move their games to small crappy arenas. Last year some club even played their games indoor! It's a bit ridiculous. But the organizers are so unprofessional too.... so they kinda deserve it.
Like the case I mentioned:
Tromsø use an illegal player and get their points deducted, FC Copenhagen gets a 50,000 fine! With out the three points they wouldn't have made it to the knock-out stages. Now they did... and received 125,000 in price money

Royal League
We, as in Helsingborg, play in the same group as the mighty Rosenborg and Brann of Norway and some shitty danish club called Odense. :p
Our results this far
Helsingborg vs Rosenborg 3-1 (with Henrik Larsson)
Brann vs Helsingborg 2-2 (without Henrik Larsson)
Larsson has been given time to take a vacation and we'll play with the young ones from now on.
No, the clubs don't take this tournament seriously... with the exception of Bröndby (dk), Vålerenga (no) and AIK (se)
It's their only chance to get a title. ;)
Maybe the clubs that make the semifinal next year will get the engines running... then.

no one cares about royal league. not the players, not the clubs, not the supporters. and those of them who say they do, really dont. clubs only participate for the few coin they get.
Like last year, IK Start was forced to play their homegames on a stadium 5 hours driving from were they usually play. I think a total of 14 (i kid you not) supporters showed up. Nobody cares and nobody ever will. In a few years even the associations will probably start to notice that.

I dont quite agree. Brøndby perhaps didnt care the first two seasons because they were playing UEFA cup and more important league games. This season they on the other hand need the RL to get back on track. The same goes for Viborg...
FCK have won the RL twice in a row, proving that they do care, though this season a tough match schedule (or bad RL planning ?) have forced both FCK and Odense to rest most of their best players in the first games of the RL. FCK because of the CL games and Odense becase they were playing two decisive UEFA cup games and the RL game against Rosenborg within 7 days !.
As for the Swedes, then I have had the feeling that the Swedish media was very negative towards the RL from the very first season, because they expected the Swedish teams to fail and get hammered by the Danish and Norwegian teams. The swedish clubs as such I think were positive and thinking about all the prize money they could get, but they got no support from the media and then also the supporters got in a negative mode.
As for Norway, then they seemed to be the most interested in a RL from the very start, but perhaps lost a bit of interest when non of their teams reached the final the first season. Then in the 2nd season also came the dispute about playing outdoor or indoor and some clubs moving their games far away and also resting players. I think also some rather amateuristic TV broadcasting of the games has hurt the RL in especially Sweden and Norway...
Still, when you consider the fact that we are in the early stages of the tournament and it gets very cold in the winter, with alot of rain or snow, alot of the games being played in mid week + the fact that some of the teams are forced to rest several of their regulars due to a tough match schedule or players falling ill, then the attendance figures are not all that bad. Ther are also more ppl watching the games on TV in compare with last seasons RL.
But ofcause this RL tournament is never going to get quite as popular as the domestic leagues or the bigger CL/UEFA cup games. Though the attendance for the early stages of the UEFA cup often get even lower in compare with the attendance figures in RL. So I dont think the interest is just as bad as some journalists are trying to make it look like...and it's 100% sure that non of the teams participating would like to trade the RL with pointless preparation games and tournaments in the winter.

I couldn't care less about Royal League. And it's not because my team is not participating, it's just that the whole thing is lame imo..

I could understand the swedish attitude towards this tournament if Swedish teams were loaded with $$ and had better things to do, participating in the CL or UEFA Cup, but the fact is that RL is the best/only way for the top swedish teams to earn this kind of extra money and the only place they get to play several games against good foreign opponents at the moment... So the Swedish teams really need this tournament.

I sort of like the idea with a nordic league, but since no one else cares, I don't.
The attendance has been embaressing for some teams, like AIK who had a average attendance of 21.434 in Allsvenskan.
In RL they had ~3000 against Viborg and now they have decided to let the tickets be free in their next game against Elfsborg.
The only good thing about RL is the price money.

I care about Royal League, I cheer for whoever plays AIK.
Vålerenga (No) hit them hard in the weekend, 4-2 and they're at the bottom of their group.
As for the hopes of my club... we played 0-0 away vs Rosenborg without Larsson.
So I'm looking forward to the home matches tomorrow and on Sunday.
1 SK Brann 5
2 Helsingborgs IF 5
3 OB 4
4 Rosenborg BK 1

Amen to that. If we ever want to get a Swedish team out in europe, we need some good competition. Allsvenskan isn't enough.. IFK Göteborg will never happen again if not something like Royal League is done imo.
I don't give a fuck about RL though, but that's because I don't support any team in there.. but it's important for the development of Swedish and nordic football.

No, the joke is about the FCK keeper, Jesper Christiansen.
http://www.fck.dk/files/billeder/spillere/gallerier/jesperchristiansen/jc_02.jpg
His hair is a bit gay and he has a bad attitude, so the fans give him a lot of stick. During our previous game, the fans started shouting gay chants at him. And we found this certain chant very amusing. "Jesper he is gay with Don Ø"... so childish, but that's how it is. Had five shirts produced for the occasion and it was a smash hit!
FCK chairman, Don Ø

Hating Royal League is so last year ;)
For real though, it's always nice to win stuff. And beating the fuckers is always good. Kinda like winning the Carling Cup, I guess. Get some cash, a fuckly trophy and a moral boost.
