Thompson nears Celtic exit door
Celtic midfielder Alan Thompson
Thompson has fallen out of favour under Gordon Strachan
Celtic midfielder Alan Thompson's agent says a number of clubs have registered an interest in the player.
The 32-year-old has failed to force his way into manager Gordon Strachan's plans since he replaced Martin O'Neill.
Agent Tony McGill told BBC Scotland Thompson would listen to offers from other clubs as he needed first-team football at this stage of his career.
Thompson, whose contract expires at the end of the season, joined Celtic for £2.75m in 2000.
The Newcastle-born player - capped once for England - has seen his first-team opportunities limited by the form of Shaun Maloney, Jiri Jarosik and Aiden McGeady.
Who exactly, Club tropicana?

whomever is willing to pay his wages i guess, anyway we've out ourselves an ideal replacement at fraction the price as well as half the age (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/c/celtic/6202787.stm)

I remember him being sent home after the DC united game, funny how he makes the news just before january sales start. The BBC author of the story should be sacked I thought advertising wasnt allowed

Does that include Gordan Smith ? who for crapanta gives 1 of his clients man of the match every week ? & who also has access to propagate his "unbiased ideas" on the bbc ,stv clyde & real radio , such a plank.

Alan Thomson has been the talk of the transfer rumour mill for ages, its not just happened now.
Anyone thats missed it all, where have you been?
Thommo was a very good player when on form, but as i've noticed with a lot of MON's players, he lacks a degree of professionalism. Thats not a criticism of MON, whatever works for you, and his players certainly worked for him.

Nelly, I can't double post back in the other thread.. so i'll continue it here.
The BBC directly copied, cut & pasted exactly word for word what was in the Daily Record. The report even starts, Copil told the Daily Record, "blah blah blah!".
I can't find the original document as they seem to have updated it now, after checking the facts themselves...
Updated Story Here (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/c/celtic/6202787.stm)
As you can see there they are careful to say, "The teenager was quoted in the Daily Record saying...". Must have been a freelance journo as its exactly the same story on several websites & a couple of newspapers.
Newspapers I can understand reporting drivel, but the BBC?! This is supposed to be the peoples broadcasting company. Paid for by us, for us. 100% impartial and responsible. Someone should be taken to task for just copying pish right out of one of the worst papers in the land.
