African player of the year, Drogba, Essien or Et'o?

last year it was barakat, the final 5 has now been shortened to 3.

1.drogba
2.essien
3.et'o (now aboutreika)


all 3 have been great but imo its between drogba and essien. and imo it has to e essien, had a great world cup, good end to last season and this season has been as important to them as makalele was (and still is) jose said he would come good and he has.

Has to be Drogba. His teamwork and ability to score for chelsea is just outstanding. Without him chelsea wouldn't have been second in the EPL table. He puts the whole team on his shoulders, defensivly and forward.

If ony Eto'o hasn't been injured, then he could be the African Player of the year. Otherwise, it's Drogba. :D

adebayor and et'o were inconsistand in the african nations cup, eto'o has skill but he didnt have a great time in the african nations imo, he scored a few crackers and done a few skills but sometimes he just vanished and reappaers 40 mins later when its too late

clearly. I think it'll be drogba, with essien finishing second. eto'o third due to injury. Next year, if eto'o doesnt come back flying, its going to be essien. That guys really finding his game this season.

Last season Eto'o was superb, this current season it has to be Drogba.

I'm not sure who to vote for but I dont understand the declarations of Drogba winning it for sure. He has been outstanding (world class player) since the beginning of the season which actually started in ... *gasp*...August. Before that he was solid yes but not in a class where he'd be a lock. If he does win it then congrats to him but I wouldnt declare it his just yet.

alright Eto'o won the UCL but Drogba won the EPL earlier, got to the World Cup for the first time and has been having an outstanding season so far...

...what's the confusion about Aboutreika btw? i just watched him play at the World Club Championships and he looked like a top player, if a bit over-confident against Auckland...

drogba most def this year~ he performed both for club (where would chelsea be without him this year?) and country (to the final in africa and the world cup for the first time). he deserves the credit for a great year.
