View Full Version : Who is the best Italian striker?
I set up this poll just to get everyones opinion on the best Italian striker in the world. I'm not talking about strikers who play in Italy... Post why you think they are the best! :D
I left out ADP cause there was no more room and causes hes a legend.
There was also Giampaolo Pazzini, Alessandro Rosina and Raffaele Palladino that are up and comming youngsters. Pazzini wripped up England in the U-21 international on Saturday...

poll not added yet but if you're talking about currently, i'd say luca toni without a doubt...
Toni, one of the best pure scorers Italy has seen in many years.

not only is he a natural goal scorer, he also is one of the hardest working strikers i have seen....runs back, holds up the ball, moves to wide positions, everything....he just does everything...
Rolando Bianchi and Fabio Quagliarella are very overlooked, but could very well be key to Italy in Euro 08.
Holly shit you guys are fast! lol :D

i'm kinda annoyed to see gila on the list. i didn't vote for totti because he aint really a striker. he's more a playmaker forward. if this poll were about the best italian player, my vote goes to totti. no doubt. i agree with Fac1 about bianchi. he's extremely underrated.

Yes, but Totti has been playing like a striker @ Roma this season and has 15 non-pen goals....
I'd go with Totti, even though he is not always the final man to finish plays, you just can't argue with numbers :).

It has to be Toni, because Totti is not a true striker in the conventional sense. He plays in the hole, while Toni plays up in the front lines in a straight battle against those big, cheating, grabbing and pulling Italian defenders and is still able to score a ton.

i voted totti. i think he has been great for roma this season. they are sitting comfortably at the second spot partly thanks to his contribution. he is definitely the man to watch when united face roma during the quarter final.
i think luca toni is up there aswell. he was quite good during the WC and he has scored alot of goals this season. can't say i watched him in action very often but the stats are doing the talking ;)
I left out ADP cause there was no more room and causes hes a legend.
i was gonna vote ADP but i was not given the option and yeah he is such a legend. not just his goals but also his loyalty to juventus. respect !
secretly, i am also a fan of pippo inzaghi :o i know this season hasn't been his best but there is something about his playing style. always sneaking behind defenders and he is so dangerous in the penalty box. can't wait to see him scoring more goals :)

I would have to plump for Luca Toni as he looks like a proper goal scorer and although Totti has scored alot in Serie A this season for me hes just too damn lazy although immensely talented.

love both totti and toni, but totti is not a pure striker.
he is though a complete player, hats off, world class, and when he plays up there he is reliable and can be one of the most agressive forwards ever. I can only think of Vialli being scarrier and tougher on defenders.
on this poll my vote goes though for Toni: just like Klose he is an unsung world class pure striker. I'm sure he could score big in any league. this guy knows that the ball has to go into the net.

Toni is the obvious choice but Im actually voting Rocchi. He's not the best on anything specific but he can do everything and this season he's been playing very well and have scored a lot of goals.
Did you guys see the game against Scotland yesterday? Toni scored 2 goals!
IMO, Di Natale is a complete striker, he's got speed, ball control, he can cross very well and a he can shoot. The thing is he plays like a winger with Iaquinta/Toni in deep. But he can easily be very effective down the middle and on fast breaks.
I woul have to say that Totti would be my first pick out of all of them. Toni second.

Totti, although Striker is not his major..he did much better than others, and he can help his teammate to score.
for the next few years,i think Pazzini & Bia..chi will be the best,Pazzini is more potential
Right now Rolando Bianchi at Reggina looks really impressive and I would not be surprised if they cash in on him. Reggina is just as impressive, they started at -11 which would but them in 8th with Sampdoria. Not to mention they've got Nicola Amoruso who's just as impressive. The coach Walter Mazzarri is a large part of their success.

If we was talking about the best player I would have voted Totti.
but as striker Tony is better,he has all you need from an striker....
and without doubts Italia has a great number of very good strikers,it is difficult to choose one of them.
un saludo

It has to be Totti. I always thought the guy was quality. I think he is an amazing player who can play in several attacking positions. What an asset he has been to Roma.

Best Italian striker at being the worst. Best Italian striker at being a primadonna. Best Italian striker at being a dressing-room cancer.
The list goes on :)

Montella used to be one of the best Italian strikers but not anymore. He's quite old now and injuries in recent years haven't done any good to him.
Cassano. Oh, this guy had loads of potenetial but look where he ended. No way he is the best Italian striker atm.
Totti is a striker. He used to play as CAM but since this season he has been playing as striker. It's a pity though.

I'm a huge Totti fan but I think Lucarelli is the top of all. If he plays in a top club he'll be scoring lots of goals like crazy! He need those supplies from the midfield and in his case, Livorno dont have it much.
All he needs is a great provider like Totti or Kaka..
But scoring 18goals for Livorno this season proves it all!
