Sociedad hold talks with Coleman
Chris Coleman
Former Fulham boss Chris Coleman is in talks with Spanish club Real Sociedad over the vacant manager's position, BBC Sport understands.

Coleman, 37 was sacked by Fulham in April after four years in charge at Craven Cottage.

Miguel Angel Lotina quit as Sociedad's coach following their relegation from the Primera Liga earlier this month.

Lotina had been appointed in October but was unable to stop Sociedad going down for the first time in 40 years.

Coleman joined Fulham as a player in 1997 in a £2m move from Blackburn, but injuries suffered in a car crash in 2001 led to his retirement less then two years later.

He took over as manager in April 2003 following the departure of Jean Tigana.

Wow, I didnt see this one coming, strange decision or the right one?

I would say it's a strange decision and a right one. I didn't see it coming either. I thought they would go for a spanish/basque manager. He isn't very old either. However i do think he's one of the best young British managers around and i don't doubt he'll be able to get Sociedad to play good football.

Congrates to both parties. I think Coleman is a good manager, who was let down by his players this year. (and never had any money, not to mention Jimmy's terrible injury)

Yeah i always wondered about the money side of things at Fulham. Is Al-Fayed really a millionaire? :D Or is he just a tight bastard on an ego trip?

It seems the welsh have a big deal of respect to Toshack another welsh, and he convinced to join the club from San Sebastian.

Coleman is an expert to coach skint teams and he'll have to deal with a very young squad. He could only add Delibasic for upfront, and Vaughan from Crewe Alexandra for the left wing.
