Ok guys, before you start getting angry at me...I'm posting this at a moment where I'm very angry, dissapointed, and disillusioned.

I am seriously going to re-evaluate watching any games of our NT until they win a big tournament: Copa América, World Cup, Copa Confederaciones. I've just wasted two weeks of my life waking up early to watch Estudio Fútbol and most of TyC's programming to follow the NT for nothing! We played beautiful football for moments, and what?? Will anyone ever remember that?

Anyways, I will try to not watch any more of our NT until they win something big; but I know that once the eliminatorias begin it will be too hard :(

But how will you be able to watch them win something big if you are boycotting watching them until they win something big?

Through newspapers:p

It might be a really stupid idea what I'm saying (probably is) but I'm fuc*ing pissed still. I'm even more angered at our media who have been selling us the idea that we were the best team in 2002, 2004, 2006, and now 2007.

Well you were the best team going in to 2002, I can tell you that. Crap coaching. And while some might like Basile I don't necessarily see greatness right now. Bringing Riquelme back certainly worked for Argentina but Cambiasso is being wasted out wide like that. That midfield offers no width is very similar to this past season's Chelsea; No width. Argentina looked great the first few minutes against the US but once the game really started they didn't; even though they did win big.

Brazilian or not I feel for you. I know you won't boycott but saying it might help :D

The Confederations Cup is not a big tournament.:p

I suggest you watch all the games only until the stages when they face a big NT. That will make it easier on you. :D

Argentina seem to shit their pants in the big games & as much as I like him, Riquelme seems to be the one with the dirtiest drawers of late.

at least your NT is not Canada!!! first team to ever host a youth tournament and not win a game, let alone score a fucking goal!!!

yep, i hear ya about Canada, we truly sucked at the U-20s this year...but at the same time it was'nt all that surprising b/c we just don't have the infrastructure in place yet that can produce a team with a decent chance...not yet imo...i think in a few years we'll do better esp with tfc now generating interest in the country .

But honestly, the gut wrenching for me is much worse when seeing Argentina lose. I was depressed for like 2 weeks after we lost in the WC and the Copa this year was'nt that much better, lol. If anyone figures out a way we can watch our favorite teams without taking it so damn seriously, please let me know...b/c i swear i'm gonna have a coronary by the time the next world cup rolls around. What kills me is the friggin expectations that the media puts on the team, geez they are just human not machines! No matter how much we want it, they are not going to win every bloody match, its just not possible! And its not just about being good, it's about LUCK! We might be one of the best in the world, but at the end of the day, it comes down to luck, and unfortunately we have zero when it comes to big games. I think that luck has the biggest role in any win for any team, more than skill or talent, and if its not on your side, you are not gonna win, thats just the way it is.

hehehe....this man speaks the truth. :( :o
Im boycotting Mexico until they beat Argentina ffsI will also aid you in boycotting Mexico, unless they play argentina. :D :D :D

Argentina, although they seem to have all the pieces of a puzzle, are each time thwarted by a team that lacks the hunger to win a game. If they display the hunger, and work hard, and still loose...its easier for me to stomache. I still hurt, but its easier because i know they tried hard and wherent lazy.

England i feel badly for. They seem to have it the worst of anyone.

Yeah it truly sucks. 2002 not only did we have to deal with bad coaching, but we had to deal with the Group of Death. 2004 Copa we outplayed Brazil badly, but they got lucky in the 92nd minute when Adriano scored and we all know that its a sin for Brazil to lose on penaltys. 2005 Confederations Cup(I know its not a big trophy, but still a tournament), we played fairly good and got killed by Brazil in the final. 2006 World Cup we were the team to beat. We made the Group of Death seem like a walk in the park, took out Mexico and lost to the host country on penaltys(if theres one team that can beat Brazil on penaltys its the Germans) and stupid coaching got us eliminated. Now 2007 we played beautiful futbol and forgot to show up in the final.

Ever since 1990... Argentina is destined for heartbreaks.

The bright spot for me, is that we have a coach that likes offensive football, and(this is key) we have 2, very, very hungry forwards in Tevez, and Messi. They want to win. And I think they can take us to trophies. Which ones remain to be seen if other players buy into their passion, but everyone knows Tevez doesnt give up, and Messi loves to score. :)

The thing about our players(aside from Crespo and Milito) is that they are freaking short. If you watch the 2007 Copa Final, everytime there was any type of corner/free kick, it was sad seeing us trying to jump with the Brazilians. We're too short and believe it or not that hurts.

Pekerman speaks (http://www.ole.clarin.com/notas/2007/08/20/01481626.html)

the issue of the day, why didn't he put in messi against the germans

'There were several players on the bench that could have offered things that day. Saviola could have come in, as Messi could have done. But it was not to label him a saviour, but rather to give what we expected. At the beginning of the tournament we were labeled incorrectly as dependent on Riquelme. The team then demonstrated they could count on other players.'
'People on the street ask me why I didn't put Messi in. It's the question that lingers, a pity. I also wanted to see Messi play more, but the team was where it needed to be at that moment. With Messi, Tévez and Riquelme we were unable to score against Holland and it didn't seem likely to work against the Germans.'
'Let's forget about the penalties, Argentina could have beaten Italy, France, or Portugal. They were better on penalties, that was our defect.'

interesting
he does not seem to be talking about the substitutions but rather about putting him in the beginning
and in that respect I agree
I think we were very unlucky that Germany scored and that it happened after we had made our three changes to rest players at the end of what should have been an easy win
I think we made a mistake to defend the 1-0, because if we had continued to press the crestfallen and outclassed Germans we would have won by at least 2 or 3, even if they managed to score one
Pekerman was guilty of giving them too much respect in their home
they would have gone down heroes 0-1, our mistake was to think they couldn't tie
