i'm curious what people's predictions are for this season. in the process of moving i didn't have internet for 2 months. i lost track of all the transfers, so maybe somebody can fill me in. but without timo do you think vfb will repeat?

You can follow the activity on the transfer market here (http://www.transfermarkt.de/de/aktuell/L1/2007/wechsel/index.html).

I expect Bayern to win the league hands down unless the injury bug gets them. Toni, Ribery, Klose, and Altintop (among others) coming on board certainly makes them the overwhelming favorites.

The other two CL spots and the UC spots should be hotly contested though with Stuttgart, Schalke, Werder, BVB, HSV, Nurnberg, and Frankfurt bunched together again.

The table was so tight last year and very exciting to follow, I think this season will be even better since so many clubs have improved.

i see us starting really bad, getting better to midseason, and fighting relegation again in the end.

I'd say Leverkusen, Hannover and HSV will have a good season,
the usual suspects will fight for the CL spots and if Bayern wont win the quadruple i'll lmao.

I think Frankfurt has a pretty good squad, no fight against relegation this year. Hannover + Nürnberg aim for the UEFA-Cup spots and its Stuttgart, Schalke, Werder, Bayern fighting for the title again.

Well, I have to disagree with most of you, since I doubt that Bayern will win this year...Of course they have a great team, but most of the fans as well as the media are being too convinced about the pre-season matches...I think that Bayern will have problems with their team play when it comes to "Big matches", which would be totally normal considering the number of changes they made to their squad. Bayern will of course be found somewhere at the top of the table this season, but they won't be champions.

Bremen will have a tough season, but there were that many changes in their squad, so I'd bet on them as challenging for the title as well as I'd bet (It's really hard to write that!) on Schalke. They have a good team which imo is able to compensate the loss of Lincoln.

For my Buliga favourite Dortmund it hopefully is a better season, with better displays at home, and a result that allows Borussia to play in a European Cup next year!

The local media in the Ruhr area are tipping BVB to land in fifth this season, which would translate into UEFA cup participation for next year & probably god like status for Doll!!
My feeling is that Bayern will stumble with that many egos & only 1 ball to go around. Hitzfeld is a tough bastard too, so that may piss off some of the more sensitive egos as well, but realistically, even with half their star power on the field they can probably beat most teams.

I would say VfB Stuttgart have (again) a pretty good shot.

Bayern, of course, but wouldn't we all (except Sataris et al) love if they ended up 4th? I can't wait for the Sportschau to be online Saturday night. Now those week-ends start again where I have to avoid spoilers...

Let's see how Hamburg will be doing, we might be in for a surprise there (not the title, but a good place). I think Schalke might be ending up pretty low this year.

And what about Magath and Wolfsburg?

yeah, don't count out Wolfsburg!

From what I saw in the Stuttgart v. Schalke game, I expect both teams to again challenge for the title. Schalke has a very sound base with a great, aggressive defense complemented a fast counterattacking offense and not to mention their great home field advantage. Stuttgart really impressed me in that first game, they must be the youngest, most energetic team in the bundesliga. Again they have a great defensive base along with a group of intelligent, skillful, unselfish attackers upfront that like to interchange positions a lot and create confusions for their opponents. If both Stuttgart and Schalke can maintain their defensive excellence, then they will definitely have good season.

Bremen can also still challenge for the title, a lot will depend on Carlos Alberto, he can provide variation to what was a quite predictable attack last year. If Carlos Alberto plays well, he will 1. provide crosses for the tall Sanogo; 2. provide another source of goal out of the midfield.

I'm not one who believes Bayern will storm through the league this year, I look forward to another very interesting and entertaining Bundesliga season.

My prediction:

1. Bayern 75 pts
2. Stuttgart 68
3. Bremen 66
3. Schalke 62

Bayern will most likely win the championship, especially after having such a good start. But I do hope that Stuttgart will:D

löl, don't let you deceive by the 7 points we got in our first games.
Those were points we had to get.
The next two games will show from which kind of wood our team is made.
(Werder away and HSV at home)

If we get at least 1 point from those games i'll believe that we won't fight against relegation this year.

I have to admit that our back line looks much better than last year
and our team spirit is much stronger,
but we fail to convert our chances up front.

If we could get another decent striker and would play 2 strikers,
at least at home, Hoeness will shitting his pants when they have to play at Frankfurt, especially after last years Bayern debacle. :D

edit:
i have to post it on more time,
for all of us to enjoy again. :D

ps:
I never heard a thank you from you Bayern guys for that game,
after all we helped you a lot to get a decent squad again. :D

I assume that was you recording off a cell phone. Awesome seat you got there. Season tickets.

Danke fuer das Spiel...

That goal must have been awesome to watch live...unless you're a Bayern fan.
