with just a few games remeaning,I think it's clear that Panathinaikos will be the new champion

I think Iraklis wont drop to the Second Division. I think Veroia will finish last.

so how's Aaron Niguez doing?

TheGlobber yeah I totally agree - georgez prediction was a litlle bit off cause Iraklis made some very good transfers in January like Aaron

I think Ergotelis,Veroia and Atromitos will drop

deathcab it was a shock to hear that Iraklis took Aaron cause a)he's considered to be a great talent & he is European Champion Under 21 last year
and b)Iraklis was considered allready a candidate to drop to League B and the club had no money

the team was boosted up by his good perfomance at most of the games he played in but he was injured recently
hopefully he will play against AEK this Sunday

I think he's a great player and has a big future ahead of him - but in a league such as the greek with hard defenders he can't show much of his talent

how come olympiakos keeps winning and winning the title? yes, they have a great squad but this is like a joke;
1996-97 Olympiacos
1997-98 Olympiacos
1998-99 Olympiacos
1999-00 Olympiacos
2000-01 Olympiacos
2001-02 Olympiacos
2002-03 Olympiacos
2003-04 Panathinaikos
2004-05 Olympiacos
2005-06 Olympiacos
2006-07 Olympiacos

i was really high on aek to win it this year but it would be a miracle at this point..

by the way, can anyone write about the young talents of greek football.. i'd be very happy to know some promising players..

Heh, indeed. The greek league has turned into a farce. There was a corruption scandal like the Calciopoli in Italy 6-7 years ago, but nothing came out of it depsite the phone conversations that were published. So, in the first 5-6 years a lot of dodgy refereeing decisions helped Oly dominate the league. On top of that AEK and Panathinaikos have had their share of problems in the last decade, that would take me hours to explain.

This season there was a problem with one of the January transfers of Kalamaria.Olympiacos lost 1-0 but they appealed that one of the Kalamaria players had already played in 2 teams this season and he shouldn't have played for Kalamaria, so Olympiacos won the game on paper.Kalamaria appealed to FIFA and the decision is pending. It will probably be announced on Monday, so there could be a mess with the greek league.

Look for the under 23 NT players.Torosidis, of Olympiacos, is promising.Chritodolopoulos, of PAOK, could have a bright future as well, but a dispute with his club had kept him out of action for a while and that was a setback for him but his performances this season were promising.Ninis, is another young player that came into the spotlight and there was a lot of buzz around his name last season, but the Panathinaikos coach this season didn't trust him and thus didn't give him too many chances. There are a few other, young and not so young, players as well.

as of now the new champion of the greek SuperLeague is Olumpiakos :(
even though no one is sure yet because of the CAS situation

the teams that will play in the play-offs are AEK,Panathinaikos,Aris and Panionios - they're fighting for 1 place in the new Champions League and 2 more in the next UEFA Cup (actually Aris has allready a place in the Uefa Cup as a finalist to the Greek Cup)

the 3 teams that will play to the 2nd division next year are Atromitos,Veroia and Kalamaria

did they lift the trophy or start celebrating? and what's the general situation in greece right now, are original 21 & gate 7 members acting violently or protest the situation?

ps. what is the best chant of paok besides paokara, exo trela? that was too catchy.. =) and i will be very happy to know about other teams' chants..

thanks very much for the knowledge..

CAS rejected today unanimously Kalamaria's appeal, so Olympiacos are officially the Champions.

AEK claim they could boycott the play-offs, but i doubt it.That would be disastrous for them, since they won't even be in the UEFA cup next season if they do.
