Ok, I get to rant again about what's wrong with the Serie A, or Italy, or the fact that I miss being there. This time, eyes on Donadoni. His player selections, lineups, formations, motivations, you name it, he's distorted. Why is he still coach of the beloved NT?

I feel we may suffer humilation if we don't win against Ukraine. Imagine, Euro cup WITHOUT the World Champions...

i do agree with you here...

actually, imo, most of the "top team's" national coaches are all shit...

mclaren, dunga, donadoni, van basten

italy has been nothing short of average since he took over...
his formations seem like guess work or that he just puts the players in a formation and hope that their individual skills will win games (like mancini at Inter)

tactically, he is piss poor...

strange to me that someone like ancelotti, who has proven that he is a great tactician and very good at knockout games wasn't asked to be Italy's coach....

Controversy, I don't think they would allow coaches to coach NT and club. Atleast, that's how it is in Italy. Otherwise, I would have chosen Spalletti. He would have brought back Totti and made the NT very fluid and entertaining.

Donadoni got the job cuz he'd friends with Albertini (Casiraghi had the same help with the under-21 NT...)

I firmly believe he will be sacked right before euro2008 and Lippi or maybe even Trappatoni will manage them

The World Cup hangover cannot even last for 1 match, remember that home draw to Lithuania? Last time Italy won the WC in 1982, it did not qualify for the 1984 EURO championship.

Objectively, Donadoni has not had it easy, inheriting a team that just won the World Cup. No matter what one says, it is hard to motivate players for "easier" matches. He also had to deal with defections and/or retirements...
