MILAN - Readers of Italian sports daily La Gazzetta dello Sport included six Inter players in their team of the year for 2007, and elected Roberto Mancini as best coach.

Voters were allowed to select players who collected at least 25 appearances in the Serie A and B championships during the calendar year.

La Gazzetta dello Sport's XI for 2007:
Frey; Maicon, Mexes, Cordoba, Zanetti; Figo, Cambiasso, Doni, Nedved; Ibrahimovic, Totti.
Coach: Roberto Mancini.

agreed on the mutu snub, tho i am a roma fan confused as to why de rossi wouldnt be onthe list either. but these lists are always subjective anyway.

The top 11 wesn't chosen by Gazzetta readers, it was directed by the votes recieved each week (pagelle). Of course, it is based only on Gazetta's weekly votes, no fan input, just biased milanese journalists (don't worry though, they're not the only biased paper in italy: tuttosport (torinese), Corriere Dello Sport (romano)).

nice picks roma_barca:), its tough to pick the best of the yr because it encompasses the last half of the 06-07 campaign and the beginning half of the 07-08 campaign. for example, chiellini had a great spell in serie b but probably hasnt played outstanding in the current season, same can be said for Mexes. its probably easier to pick the best from each campaign, but still i agree with almost every one of your picks. ;)

Mexes has been injured the last month, make some midlle performances in October, but all the end of the former season, he was just AWESOME :):), and the beginning of this season too.
